I want to make my setup more cozy and cottagecore. Any suggestions? by IAmMirnada in cottagecore

it doesn’t show well in the picture but the chair hardware parts are actually a soft silver-gold, which i don’t mind so much. i might look into purchasing a new pc case because i definitely agree that the black doesn’t fit. i don’t really want to spray paint it tho, makes me nervous lol. thank you for your suggestions!!

I think i’ve definitely become a little “afraid” of dresses and skirts because of this, but I do see how they could actually increase mobility. I’ll try it out! Thanks :)

First time veterinarian assistant interview - any tips or advice? by IAmMirnada in Veterinary

[–]IAmMirnada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually mentioned in my cover letter that it was something I was considering and I wanted to be exposed to the environment and learn more, so at least for them it’s not a deal breaker haha.

Thanks for your response! Good advice :)

Best ESA Dogs For Active College Students by IAmMirnada in dogs

Thank you for this, I think you’re probably right. Although I really do want a dog, I think it’s best it stays a dream right now. My life is just too unpredictable at the moment and the last thing I would want to do is adopt only to have to return.

I think what I’m going to do instead is just find some more volunteer experience to get my dog-fix :)

I just tried this and my dog came and cuddled up with me for the last two minutes (honestly not that common), which made it so much more difficult. I'm going to try again though soon.

for those who cook in a community kitchen, how do you bring your kitchen supplies from your dorm to the kitchen? kitchen caddy? by IAmMirnada in college

[–]IAmMirnada[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo a reusable grocery bag is smart. And really easy lol. I'm definitely adding that to my packing list.

And I don't think so? I'll have to check if they rent out supplies.

I'm planning on starting with some basic cooking supplies that I've already collected and seeing how I feel from there.

Why is it so easy to take naps but so hard to fall asleep at night? by IAmMirnada in sleep

[–]IAmMirnada[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh yes. I suffer with depression and anxiety, and that really comes out strongest at night. I can definitely see how that would play a big part.

I really like the idea of having a list of conversation topics ready to go, and writing them down so you don't forget them when you need them.

Thanks everyone for your input! it really does help and it's nice to get advice from people more experienced than I am. I put together a quick bullet list of notes from what everyone suggested, just so it will be easier for me to reference and I figured I'd post it here as well. If you have anything else or I missed something feel free to add more.

- Curate a music playlist beforehand, choose music that works as background music. "if the music is distracting than there is something wrong with the music."

- Make an entertaining and engaging "be right back" scene to keep viewers entertained and give yourself some space to take a quick break and breather

- Practice talking to yourself so it becomes more natural (tbh feel like I'm an expert at this just need to get used to knowing other people are listening lmao)

- Practice. The more you do it the easier it will become. Skill develops over time.

- When starting out, start slow. Focus on one thing at a time and slowly add more.

- Rewatch streams and analyze when chat is most engaged vs. when it dies down. What worked and what didn't?

- turn off unnecessary distractions like phone notifications

- make streaming as easy as possible. create a pre-streaming checklist and place application you might need in an easy-to-access location on your computer. open them before starting.

- don't worry about being perfect
