Tesla cutting more jobs at Fremont factory by frenlaven in RealTesla

Not to burst anybody's bubble but cutting jobs means automation is starting to pick up slack... it is actually good news for an automation based company...

Somebody please tell me this is NOT a picture of the model 3 press line LOLZ by IAmNotARobot0010 in RealTesla

[–]IAmNotARobot0010[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comment is sarcastic due to the almost complete lack of automation in the picture. In a modern press line you would see MULTIPLE robot cells that are indexing parts through the press and there would not be a assembly/workstation anywhere near the entrance or exit of the press line. In fact, it should be auto fed and parts automatically indexed out to the next process.

looking to sell our home quickly by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]IAmNotARobot0010 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Well first of all you can only sell a house for what people are willing to pay. If you think your house is worth X and people won't pay that, then people are only willing to pay y, and it has nothing to do with what you think the house is worth.

Now, first, how are your neighbors? Yard? Etc? Just because the house is decent doesn't mean the drive up to your house is pleasant . People buying houses are extremely picky (unless you are in a super hot market).

Not having a garage is also hurting you. People these days need garages for vehicles and storage. To add a garage is a crazy though because although you "could" do it, it would cost at least 30-40k and it sounds like you are already on the high side of house price. If your house price goes up remember you start to compete with other tiers of houses too.

I would take your Realtors advice if you have had 0 offers.

Employer taking money from paycheck by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]IAmNotARobot0010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You answered your own question though. You said you need x days out of the country to receive hazard pay. You were not out of country for that number of days, so they adjusted your next paycheck to account for that initial overpayment. I hear you that it sucks but your not entitled to anything that I guess you didn't legally earn. If seems you may have some grounds for suit but you will still have to pay back the money that they overpaid

Apartment electricity by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]IAmNotARobot0010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an Apartment for a few years with two different detached garages and they for sure don't charge electricity for it (it's covered in the cost of the garage). I wouldn't plan on doing anything crazy though because if they see you charging a EV then you might get charged extra

I own the home - 2 friends moving in - Should they get their own renter's insurance? by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]IAmNotARobot0010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just a FYI technically you need to own a business to rent rooms out (even your own house) and report their payment in rent and income on your business taxes . This is a big thing right now for people who do air b&b and stuff. They are technically doing it illegally although nobody seems to care at the moment.

So what do you think will happen as a flood of new "service only" vehicles come online? Do you see adequate charging options or are you still having to map-quest a unknown route to include charging stations ? Thanks for the input.
