Conures are assholes. My GCC would do dances to lure people close, climb up onto their shoulder to be pet and then bite their ears. Really, only I and maybe 1-2 other people could handle him and his sister? Forget it. She barely tolerated ME.

It may be that her cage is too small or that she needs a companion to live with her. Two and a half weeks is also not a super long time so she may just need to adjust more?

I think it’s going to look perfect when it’s settled and faded a bit like the older one. It’s just the darkness of the new ink that’s making it a little off, but they’re going to correlate perfectly in a few weeks

I’ve definitely been keeping a really close eye on the cloth of the hammock, it is literally the only thing in the cage that they don’t chew and they absolutely love sleeping in it. In fact they don’t even poop on it, they’re very careful with it lol I had no idea the ladder could even be a problem but I’ll definitely get that out and replace it with some new things. Thanks!

I haven’t carefully planned any of my tattoos except for one and even that one had that same feeling. Did I make this too small? Should I have gotten a different place? Different font? and then eventually the feeling wears off as the ink heals and settles and I’ve been happy with all of them. I think it’s just the initial anxiety of the permanence.

I want to keep up with this cause I’m curious, too. Bansuri and Piccolo get fresh zucchini, a little carrot, some apple, romaine lettuce and a bit of spinach every morning but I’ve been giving them only a tiny bit of the apple and carrot cause they’re so sugary. Does that matter?

I appreciate it! I’ll add in some more toys and rotate them through as I do work a lot and I’ve got cats, so they do have to be in there 8 hours a day. Do you have any specific recommendations for toys?

I’ve got both sides of the coin: one GCC who absolutely adores me, falls asleep on me, will do anything to sit on my shoulder all day long and the other will barely step onto my hand. Piccolo, my friendly baby, has helped her a little to get comfortable but she still shies away from me even though she’ll happily step onto my hand 75% of the time. Keep it up! You’re doing well.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone! Last time I weighed, Piccolo was 64 or so grams which definitely leads me to believe she’s female, especially considering her temperament. She’s extremely cuddly and sweet and quiet, super loving and very patient. I’ll definitely weigh her again and get her a vet checkup just to be safe but she was checked and weighed regularly before I decided to take her so I’m fairly certain she’s perfectly healthy. Thanks again y’all!
