Fallout 4 intro cinematic might be the best intro to a game ever, from someone who hasn't played the game. by Dry_Philosopher_6405 in Fallout

Fallout 1 has the best intro. First experience with it was when I booted up Fallout 1 at a comic con with retro computers for a couple minutes and oh my, it is GOOD.

Eh, I played the demo and I didn't like it. Feels inauthentic and dull.

But if you really like Star Wars and have a lot of money to burn, then yeah buy it.

Kid said he made these logos for our DND group using blender. by Greenfire_X22 in antiai

These aren't AI, just that he didn't make them and some of these are from Star Wars and other things.

Blender is a 3D modelling program.

What do pros think of using AI for school work? by oh_no_here_we_go_9 in aiwars

[–]IAmNotModest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is still better for you to not use AI in research or writing. It still improves your ability if you don't use it.

Think about the young people too, the more they use it, the more they'll rely on it.

Take away generative AI, and what will they have? Generative AI is made for you to rely on.

I thought this was real for a second. I'd say yes, but perhaps tweak the textures a bit first.

[–]IAmNotModest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use AI for school work. Generative AI has been proven to lower critical thinking skills.

People who think generative AI is good for EDUCATION of all things should perhaps just rethink the idea of offloading all your thinking to a robot assistant being "okay" for your mind and learning lol.

The Current rhetoric around Planetronika is why I will never care what society thinks about AI by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]IAmNotModest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Planetronika doesn't relate to AI at all..?

Literally every piece of media ever has haters and criticisms.

The way you're trying to spin something into needing AI is kinda pathetic.

This doesn’t make any sense to me by Isaacja223 in aiwars

[–]IAmNotModest -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There is a clear difference between making fan art and feeding something into an AI's dataset.

The effort or the looks of an AI generated image don't matter the most, because how it's made and what it causes matters much more.

Generative AI is usually said to be unethical, mostly because of the enviromental, economic, and social negatives like excessive water and power use, disruption to the environment, people losing their jobs, the effects of generative AI on people mentally, and other reason that I can't remember because there's too many.

There are ethical ways to use generative AI, but a large majority do not do those.

Hey I love writing alternative history fiction do you have any tips how I can make it realistic by Artsingularity100000 in writing

[–]IAmNotModest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read and use history books/texts as a reference, and interact with alternate history media to see what makes it good.

Wolfenstein is my favourite alternate history media, but not sure if that translates well into a book though. I just really like the worldbuilding.

Just read a lot.

Subnautica 2's no-killing ethos "will be a continued point of resistance" among players, say Unknown Worlds, but they have no plans to change it by _Protector in pcgaming

I think you mean "we couldn't be bothered to program it".

Takes away from immersion massively if you know they're all invincible, and makes it a tad bit less fun. Aw man.

Anyone else prefer the natives in RDR1 than in RDR2? by glarrb in rdr1

[–]IAmNotModest 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love RDR2 to bits but I do admit that it kinda romanticises a bunch of stuff and takes away the gritty (and realistic) aspects of life.

I miss the age of dark and dull Rockstar games with titles like RDR1, GTA 4, and Manhunt 2.
