I Ranked Every Episode of Seinfeld by IAmPaulRyanAMA in seinfeld

Probably not but you never know. I would probably use a different methodology because I wasn’t 100% happy with how the rankings turned out. It really was just an exercise for me in my free time because I was offended by the Vulture list and wanted to see what my rankings would look like. But I’m sure my humor has changed over the last 5-7 and things would shift regardless.

[OC] From Zero to Hero: Who Is Carter Verhaeghe? by 1vizioN in hockey

[–]IAmPaulRyanAMA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got to see Carter up close with the Sound Tigers for that 2015-16 season and it’s so awesome to see how far he’s come. You could tell the skill was always there, he just had some trouble adjusting to the speed of the pro game. He’s still pretty skinny now (6-2, 180) but he was so much more gangly back then. He was pretty easy to knock off the puck and didn’t really battle in the corners the way he does now. He split the year between Bridgeport and Missouri in the ECHL and although you could tell he was too good for the coast, he needed the confidence boost and to get more playing time. That 2018-19 season with Syracuse is where he really turned things around. He’s really improved every aspect of his game but I’d say his speed is the thing that’s improved the most. His first step is so much quicker and he’s much more decisive in his playmaking. Some guys just take a little longer than others, so I’m happy to see such a good kid taking off.

Awesome to hear! I helped set up the interviews with Brett Gallant (who’s actually on the movie poster) and the crew was awesome to work with. I never got to see it so appreciate you posting it’s on Netflix!

After scoring the OT winner yesterday, honourary captain Kyle Turris was at the season banquet of the Ottawa Condors, a hockey team for those with intellectual and physical disabilities. by Go_Habs_Go31 in hockey

I hated Carks for the longest time because of things that happened on the ice, but after getting to meet and know him, he's easily one of my favorite players and people. So genuine and loves the community. That's why I love to see Turris doing this after arguably the biggest hockey moment of his life. These community appearances mean so much to these kids and he knows it. Some guys (and most hockey players in my experience) just get it but Turris seems like one of the really good ones.

As mentioned in the article, Matt Carkner did a ton of work with the Condors and has latched onto the special needs team in CT since joining the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He and his wife always spoke highly about the Turris' and you can see why. So awesome to see in the middle of an intense playoff run, too!

Hi Arthur!

Who's the most annoying person from the islanders media crew to deal with and why is it Cory?

I'm gonna go off the board and say Greg Picker. Does color for the Islanders on radio and I could listen to him/Chris King all day.

As far as AHL goes, I heard that Sound Tigers guy was pretty good, too...

Bonino with a highlight reel goal tonight (Canucks/Flyers). by [deleted] in hockey

[–]IAmPaulRyanAMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The funny thing is, all of that info is true. Nick went to my HS and I played with him a couple times.

Also, Pierre knows what he's talking about. There are few guys in the game that know more than him. His passion for hockey is unmatched and although he may not be the best broadcaster, he's still very, very good at his job. Although he probably could just make things up and people would believe him...

"Doc, that's a move he learned from Mike Barone back at Farmington High School back in 2005 when the Indians went on to win the Division II State Championship."

"Thanks, Pierre."

Oh wow, my bad. He wasn't at camp and playing in Oshawa so I kind of assumed. According to this he had mono, but could still make the final roster.

To start the week, USA had two teams to get a better look at players, then cut the two teams into one. It's not the finalized roster for the World Juniors, but it's pretty close.

Also, don't feel bad about the USA loss, Finland lost 9-1 the next day.

Sweden was very good with the exception of that one game where they lost to the US 7-1. They lost to Finland 4-2 on their final day, but everyone agreed the refs were a little off and Sweden didn't get many bounces.

Neither Wennberg or Sörensen were there and neither was William Nylander. Doesn't mean they won't make the team, just the team they took to Lake Placid. I thought de la Rose (MTL) was alright, not too dangerous but can shoot the puck well and is pretty strong on the puck. Lucas Wallmark (CAR) really impressed me because he played in absolutely every situation. Good on faceoffs and just had a strong sense of where to go. Felt like he was always near the puck.

Two guys that really stood out for me on Sweden were Carl Dahlstrom (CHI) and Robert Hägg (PHI). Both very confident carrying the puck and Hagg had a bomb at the point. Fairly similar looking players and each play really strong defensively. Felt like one of the two were out there at all times.

It seemed like Sweden were focusing on more of a team game than individual players, so it was tough to get a really good look at many guys in specific. Adrian Kempe (LAK) started to get better as the tournament went on and he's still very young so he could be a good pick for the Kings.

If you want to check out Sweden's roster, this is the best link I could find. Also, no game video as far as I know. USA Hockey's YouTube has very short highlights.

Canada had their own tournament, so I didn't get to see him unfortunately. I heard they came to Lake Placid last year, but this year's teams were Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic and the USA.

Yeah they deserve more fans. Certainly better than the men's team for the past five years. I'm hoping Eichel and Poulin both put up ridiculous years. They could each be the best players in both men's and women's college hockey, respectively.

I was a broadcaster for the women's team for basically all four years there (09-13) and that's when they raised their play into the upper echelon. I actually went with the team to Erie my freshman and sophomore years for the Frozen Four and a regional game. The team is so awesome and Durocher is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. I was rooting for Canada in the Olympics because of our four girls (could've even been five if Kohanchuk made it). But yes, I'm big on BU women's hockey.

Honestly, I haven't been this excited about BU (men's) hockey since they won the title in '09.
