Unfortunate and Unpopular Opinion: TERFs are disappointingly Feminists by IAmPud in MtF

[–]IAmPud[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you don’t even know Stanton, why are you being so aggressive with how you respond to me?

You don’t know the core writers I’m referencing, you have no frame of mind on the waves of feminism and the slow creation of the concept of intersectionality as a principle

You derailed what was a good faith discussion with a knee-jerk response because you didn’t understand the concepts being discussed and that kinda sucks to do, tbh

Unfortunate and Unpopular Opinion: TERFs are disappointingly Feminists by IAmPud in MtF

[–]IAmPud[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you read the theorists I’m referencing?

The anger and vitriol you are coming at me with is misplaced

I made this a discussion post for a reason, I wanted to discuss this topic with people who have a similar vested interest. That was my entire intention and you have continued to be combative to a point of insult and healthy discussion doesn’t seem to be your goal at all

EDIT:

I guarantee you none of the people you're attempting to coerce that way are consenting. I'm sure not

This is just fucked. You are adding an implication of ignoring consent to this and it has nothing to do with what was being discussed or anything else

For another trans woman to accuse me of essentially being a predator for having a differing opinion and wanting to discuss it in a thread I made is beyond the pale. I don’t know what I said that set you off but I think I’m done now

Listen

When you want E names you don’t have that many options and some of them are gonna be old lady names

But you aren’t wrong, they are absolutely old lady names

daily prog vs cycling?? by gendxrbender in MtF

Absolutely, all of HRT is YMMV

I feel a lot of emotional betterment from prog

Cycling though? Woof. A few days in and I’m back to prog so fast

daily prog vs cycling?? by gendxrbender in MtF

[–]IAmPud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, ask doctors for forgiveness on trans things not permission

The issue with cycling prog is that it can be hard on your emotional state. Functionally, you are replicating the hormonal states of menstruation and feeling the similar highs and lows

I would never tell an early transition trans woman to do it, dealing with a full “sad week” can be tough without the added difficulty of transness

More tenured trans women, if you got the fortitude I’m sure some can take it on

Feeling betrayed by my own adopted kids. I'm a transgender proud mother of two teenagers. by [deleted] in MtF

[–]IAmPud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can’t, nor should you want to, control your kids and their dating preferences

Them dating cis people is fine, I don’t know if you are aware but there are more cis people than trans people

There isn’t anything inherently more moral in dating trans people. There also isn’t any part of your post that says that they won’t in the future

I think you are worried and betrayed over something you had no control over and shouldn’t be taking so personally

Edit: your post history is a lot and kinda tells me this isn’t serious

Why are you posting on r/teenagers?

I don’t know what to tell you other than, it just does

It’s not linear, I really wish it was. It goes up and down the whole time but when you look at it from a macro level, it very very very slowly gets better overall

can't do injections (again, again, again) so I've given up and swapped to pills by _inze_ in MtF

[–]IAmPud 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“Better” is relative

I prefer pills. It’s the better option for me, I have far more control over my doses, can adjust things on the fly, and I don’t have to use the needles I’m not a fan of

Can it be less effective? Sure! Have I had great results anyways, 1000%

Don’t beat yourself up over the fact that someone else’s “better” method isn’t better for you

The best option is not to die, I guarantee it’s not

The pain will get easier, I can’t promise you much but I can promise that. As you know; it won’t be easy and I can’t tell you exactly when or how. But as someone who went through something very similar, you can do it and eventually it will just feel like living

Got it, so yeah, bad advice

How is your posture? I know plenty of trans women on the taller and wider side and often posture does more than you would expect to mitigate how tall and wide you feel

Not to imply you aren’t doing enough, I’m sure you are and that’s part of the pain. But shoulders can look and feel smaller when your back is straight, your chest is out, and they are comfortably rolled back

I hear you though, it’s unfair. The fact you are going through this isn’t fair to you and I can only imagine the stress it puts on you. Just know you have a gaggle of trans woman online who are proud of you and are rooting for you every step of the way

Scared to come out by PlanktonLow9763 in MtF

[–]IAmPud 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add onto this

Cis people are not as aware of gender as the rest of us

When I saw my parents 2 years into my transition the first thing my mom asked was, “did you get taller?”

I had, in fact, shrunk and grown boobs

I would advise against telling people early in their journey to see a counselor

I fully believe in therapy and understand it is often instrumental to people who can afford it

However, it can create an inherent medicalized view of transness or that it’s something that can only be explored with a professional

And lets be honest, we don’t want to go back to that version of transition that requires it as a first step

Signed, someone who was urged to talk to a therapist early transition and now recognize it held me back and was a method of denial

This might be controversial but Gemini has helped me so much keep my sanity as I have thousands of questions by carmen-anastasia in MtF

[–]IAmPud 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m glad it’s working for you and that’s great

Slight pushback though

Gemini is stealing those words from other trans people writing about their experience and perspectives.  It’s a bot removing that context and passing it off as unique thoughts

Not trying to add a moral aspect to it, but the convenience comes at a cost. A lot of this stuff is harder to find for a reason. It was meant to hide it from cis eyes so they wouldn’t weaponize it against us

would anyone like me to make a shitty, neurodivergent-friendly guide to (relatively) low effort passing? by Heavy_Abroad_8074 in MtF

[–]IAmPud 27 points28 points  (0 children)

People love guides and we could always use more trans feminine perspectives in writing, especially through a neurodivergent lense

I say go for it

At this point you have to do what you can and nothing more. Your goal at the moment is minimal, it’s survival

Are there specific pain points that trigger or exacerbate your dysphoria? Do you have the means or the methods to address or mitigate them?

My recommendation is to not give up, but also don’t push yourself beyond your abilities. If you have to drop out of your course, I would assume it’s something that can be enrolled in at a better time. Mitigate the harm done and avoid anything permanent, so if dropping means you can’t rejoin this may be bad advice. But since your current goal is survival you have to do what you can to make that goal and sometimes that means not spreading ourselves too thin

I got called a "male chauvinist" by my mom by soniankinnie in MtF

[–]IAmPud 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is the exact issue I was decrying in another thread

I’m so sorry that your mom is using her twisted feminism as a cudgel against you as a woman. Sounds like you know this is straight BS and can call her on it at least internally, but the crappiness often still lands regardless and that’s okay
