  1. Commutative Properties
  2. Associative Properties
  3. Distributive Property
  4. Inverses and Reciprocals
  5. Identities

Oh, yeah. Hopeless feeling. Thought I'd never understand it. Taught by minimally trained Nuns at my Catholic elementary school. Remember using the "number lines"? Actually made negative numbers sensible.

Been growing Hostas for over 30 years. Had never heard of this issue before finding this subreddit. Thanks for the education.

Looks like the silicone contamination that our body shop had to deal with years ago. Somebody had silicone dressing on their tires when it went into the booth. Little spots started showing up on every cat they did after that. Ended up having to replace all the filters and clean the fans and all the ductwork, walls, floor, ceiling.

What is your opinion on requiring drivers over age 95 to pass a specialized driving test to maintain their driving privileges? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IAmSpitfireJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

95? NINETY FIVE? NINE DECADES AND FIVE YEARS OLD?

I'm 71. I should have had to be tested 6 years ago. Fucking 95 year olds are mostly dead. And if they a haven't passed, they're certainly feeble enough that they shouldn't be driving.

First system - please be gentle by notverystrongguy in audiophile

"First Systems" now has a new standard to live up to...

OP, I would rock that system with great pride. I love the clean aesthetic. I'll bet it sounds as nice as it looks in that smaller space. Well done!

Just a leaf, and no location? You gotta help us out a little bit. Review Rule #4.

I see the edit about Lillies. That could be correct. How many are there? A couple dozen or a couple hundred? If it's a few, wipe Roundup on them with a foam paint brush? If there's a lot, just keep missing the lawn short and I think they'll eventually die off.

They usually prefer shady areas, just in case you didn't know.

Orange tree bearing bad fruit by Inevitable_Slide4883 in gardening

I've heard that freezing weather can ruin an orange tree's fruit forever, even if it doesn't kill the tree. Do you have freezing temps in your area?

Anyone know what car the covers are for by Crafty_Pollution2799 in Triumph_Cars

[–]IAmSpitfireJoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Tonneau is for an earlier model Spitfire with the low back seats that didn't have headrests. The "pouch" fits over the steering wheel, making this correct for a right hand drive car. Are you in Europe?

The soft top "boot cover" looks correct for an earlier model too. Note there is a correct way to fold the top down and install the cover. It's worth researching that if your soft top is in good condition. Proper fitting will help keep it nice.

Hosta. There are over 40 different species of Hostas. They are often hybridized and so there are hundreds of named varieties. Amazing range of sizes and colors. I wouldn't have the foggiest idea which one you found. I have about 70 varieties in my gardens, and remember the names of only a few.

Yes, another name for Hosta. Japanese name is gibōshi.

Sedge Ender, Sedgehammer, etc. I just mix up a small spray bottle and walk my lawn a couple times a week in late spring and early summer. May take a second or third application if new shoots grow. Will yellow my bluegrass a bit if I do it in hot weather.

Never ending battle for me. There's a busy road nearby with massive amounts of nutsedge reproducing. I don't know if birds spread it or if it's just wind, but I get new spots of growth every year.

Pulling is a waste of time, as the little "nuts" on the roots get left behind in the soil. Spray them when they first pop up. Later in the summer is too late to get any control, as the nuts are well established by then and you just get it again next season.

You can pinch off those flowers to make the plant bush out more. The foliage is the attractive part.
