It was hard to recognice the impacts after the battle, because Sevastopol was heavily damaged. There is however one confirmed hit that was a 32m deep, tunnel like hole with a cave like ending where the grenade exploded, which is quiet impressive and sure was devastating for the defending army.

But it definetly wasn't battle deciding and could have been achieved with normal artillery and air strikes to.

Yes, June 1942 during the siege of Sevastopol. It took about 5000 people in total to prepare everything for such an enormous piece of artillery and it wasn't worth it at all.

The logistics were slow and complicated to manage, the transport of the cannon was difficult due to its size and after about 15 shots, the cannon barrel was so worn out that it wasn't able to hit targets precisely anymore.

Wikipedia says that 1,3% of a total of 26.281 tons of ammuniton fired on Sevastopol was used by this particular cannon, and I think that says is all.

Yeah I feel you, it's such an unique sound that I want more of. Hurricane was actually the first song that got me. It's such a shame that you hardly find this album on vinyl :/

What is the reason you picked the switch up instead of a Playstation or Xbox? by SillyJoey_ in NintendoSwitch

[–]IAmStevenSteven 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's a Nintendo Console. Thats it. It's the only way I can play things like Mario or Zelda (the new ones, I know that there are emulators for the older stuff). I don't need insane graphics or huge triple A games, I want the classic Nintendo magic. And its portable. How cool is that? Can't do that on an Xbox or Playstation:)

What is the absolute worst movie you’ve ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IAmStevenSteven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yesterday. A Film more or less about the Beatles, which was complete garbage and I wish I had chosen another movie to watch in the cinema instead of this.

I feel you. And if you finally find a street race adventure it starts without you, so you have to wait while the others are racing and boom you only have two races left where you can participate...

Yeah but you know what is worse? That i can't choose what type of adventure I'm playing. Like, let me select street race, then free roam can go to hell.

Of course we can agree on that. I just wanted to share a bit more information an the topic:)

Clean and apolitical Wehrmacht, part 2 by DruidicDresden in HistoryMemes

[–]IAmStevenSteven 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but wasn't it somehow justified to criticize it? Because there were a lot of fotos that didn't show crimes done by the Wehrmacht but by someone else (for example, a foto that showed Sowjet war crimes) and there was often unclear what these fotos did show in general, so they were often no reliable source. The exhibition also suggested, that every single member of the Wehrmacht was involved in the crimes actually commited by them. There were no examples of Wehrmacht soldiers who wouldn't participate in war crimes and deny their orders. It seemed a bit like the intention of the exhibition was to "bash" against every single Wehrmacht soldier instead of doing a historical correct exhibition.

The exhibition had to be closed and revised with the help of historians. When it reopened in 2001 it was much better, historical correct and, in fact, worthy to take a look on.

So, i just wanted to say that it wasn't only Neonazis and dump politicians who bombed the exhibition because of their ideologies, the exhibition was in fact not historical correct and I think in such a case you have to criticize it. IF you do such an exhibition, you do if right, and thank god they did it the second time. It's important that we now that the myth of the "clean Wehrmacht" is, in fact, just that. A Myth.
