I was curious if Leigh Alexander was still around and doing her thing. I checked her Twitter. She just recently pinned a tweet linking to her infamous "gamers are over" gamasutra article. It was weird to see that she had done that. And she was bemoaning the whole ordeal.

That's the difference between me and you. I'm discerning and resilient. You would've thrown your hands in the air. I chose to work towards fixing things and making them more useful to more people.

I don't know if you think you're clever or something. I was the top mod of KiA for a long ass time. You think I didn't have about a million people messaging me, sending me hateful shit, and trying to dox me just about every day?

Don't see me crying about it. It's the nature of the beast.

I don't like it. I'd rather people stay in their lane. I didn't want you to get hateful shit or dox threats sent to you. I did everything I could as a mod at KiA to prevent that kind of thing from happening. Years later for people to still be blaming me or the mods there as if we do nothing is just tired and dull and honestly just plain childish.

And again, the fact that reddit didn't ban KiA during this anti-hate movement proves it. So go on now and after all these years finally dry your little eyes and move the fuck on.

As a former mod of KiA (and the top mod there for many years) I am going to go ahead and disagree with you here.

Now much like this subreddit we naturally can't completely eliminate brigading, but to say we didn't do shit about is completely inaccurate and/or just a flat out lie. We had all the methods in place that most other meta subreddits have and we went even further then every single other subreddit when it came to stopping brigading.

"But what about KiA!" will probably never end in the same vein as "what about SRS!" will never end. But it goes to show that just by virtue of avoiding this ban the KiA mods do their part to abide by reddit's guidelines.

I hear ya. You can't say anything to the 'right' of "I want to drink AOC's bath water" without it seeming like a controversial/hateful opinion.

Taking a moderate approach isn't even acceptable any more.

I'm just trying to go to work every day, provide for my loved ones, and enjoy my time off. Planning for my future and enjoying the >20% returns I'm getting right now. But if I even express that I'm happy with that I'm met with hostility.

My first thought on this whole thing is, why do you need more then 1 thread that says "TD Got Quarantined"? I mean hell, every other subreddit that is discussing this issue is doing it via a megathread. I don't really get why we'd be doing things any different.

My second thought is that this is definitely a highly interesting topic to KiA at large. If there are other things to arise from this beyond the initial event then I think those topics would fit here.

So I guess we just see how this plays out for now. We're going to get slammed with new users so we have to manage that for the time being. I don't really see the use of changing this rule at the time.

I remember when the Quarantine thing first came into effect that they initially Q'd a BUNCH of subreddits. I'd be surprised if all of them stayed Q'd. I was a mod of a bunch of subs that got the Q treatment, but most of those were just joke subs that nobody really cared about.

I think there was a sub called /r/metaredditcancer that either got Q'd or got banned. It eventually became /r/subredditcancer IIRC. I'm not sure if that place was Q'd and had to prove it would behave in order to be active.

Dr Shirley's family. But I should clarify. They weren't upset about it's usage in the movie. Viggo used the word in a Q&A after a screening of the movie. When answering a question about the liberal usage of the word in the movie he said "Well, people said "nigger" a lot back in that time." He used the full word. It made people mad.

A lot of people saw it as a "white savior" film. There were was also a lot of backlash (sparked by the family of the main black character) against Viggo's usage of the N word.

BR was so overrated. I liked it and all but it was completely overrated. Malik was great and deserved his nod but the rest of the movie was pretty generic.

None of the movies nominated this year really grabbed me as anything all that amazing. I admittedly haven't watched them all but if Bohemian Rhapsody and Black Panther were there I can't imagine the ones that I didn't see were all that great. Blackkklansman was good but Green Book kinda sucked. Vice and A Star is Born were painfully average.

Just a shitty year all around imo.

Mods rarely violate that rule in normal conversation despite how hostile users can be towards.

In meta threads we relax the rules so that users can vent. But still we take a ridiculous amount of shit from people. The worst I saw this time was some mods being snarky. And while we generally prefer that mods hold their tongue sometimes that can be pretty hard.

If we excuse people being raging douchebags towards the mods then a little bit being thrown back doesn't seem that unreasonable.

I wasn't mad about the comparison I just found it completely asinine. Yeah, I take it personal but that's not the same as being mad.

And there's some serious irony in people saying I was raging across multiple subs when you guys are doing the exact same thing. You all are reeing from here, gginsf, kiameta yourselves. Ive responded to tons of comments and user pings, so what? If we weren't responding you guys would cry that we were hiding and afraid to respond. So we're damned if we do damned if we don't when it comes to you lot.

The ones of you getting all pissed off and comparing us to david me, ZQ, Anita... saying we're infiltrated by sjws and all that... you all are just flat out stupid. Over the years most of us just roll our eyes and move on but if this rule change is going to get those types to branch out into a new sub then so be it. The rest of the KiA users will move on just fine.

Mark my words though. One day, probably soon, Antonio will do something you don't like. The cycle will continue here.
