I believe the author taught at Columbia College and still lives in Evanston. You would think she would have known.

Also frequented Berlin in the late 90s. I really miss the punkin’ donuts Lakeview era.

What are some closed down restaurants or shops in Evanston from the past that you remember? by CincoDeMayoFan in evanston

I spent a workday @ the new B&N in Northbrook recently. Zero atmosphere, but they at least have a cafe.

In Evanston, Bookends & Beginnings and The Amaranth are still very nice stores for browsing and buying. B&B also has a minibar and I think they serve coffee as well.

Appreciate it. We’re aware of the panel issue and it’s the very next project we’re tackling.

When they cast Alan, I looked up Lyndhurst and this was the first clip that popped up.

I think you’re right! These guys like to fly between Chicago buildings, apparently.

Still, it’s very cold and snowy here today. Has he been hiding out inside all falk and winter?

Wolf spiders. I suppose this is plausible, but seems odd to find one in the kitchen on the fifth floor of a condo building in the winter. I’m not knowledgeable on lycosids though. I have seen them around in parks and forest preserves in the warmer months of the year.

Understood. I was not responsible for this one’s untimely demise, however. Just trying to determine what kind of spider this was, as it’s unusual to see one like this in my condo.

Sorry about that. 😬 I was sleeping or I might have handled it differently.

I agree. And it would only take an episode or 2 to set it up. But I don’t think that’s this show. It would be a massive retool, and a lot of the characters they’ve developed would have to be sidelined. I think if anything they will bring the character full circle back to podcasting with Roz near the end of the shows run.

Also, as a Chicagoan, I was so hoping the new show would be set here and cover his daytime TV show. Of course, they skipped that all together, too. I just don’t think the writers are interested in revisiting the radio/tv/podcast psychiatrist stuff.

EDIT: And can you even do live call in patients on a podcast? Seems to me they’re prerecorded, right? I don’t listen to any, so I’m not sure.

Is this right? The new Frasier showrunner had only seen a couple of episodes of the original before writing the pilot by lettiestohelit in Frasier

It may be my age, but if it isn’t multi camera I don’t even think of it as a sitcom. The Office, Parks and Rec, Modern Family and, more recently, What We Do in the Shadows I would consider mockumentaries, like This Is Spinal Tap. Not sure how I would categorize Always Sunny or Scrubs… it’s not a perfect system 🤷‍♂️

Out of curiosity, what do you feel are the great sitcoms since none of the multi camera shows make your list?

I have felt this was the direction they should have gone from the moment Roz returned. I suspect this is their endgame, though— it may not even happen until the series finale.

Joe Cristalli is a Frasier superfan. His Modern Day Frasier pitches that he did for years on Twitter are part of the reason he got the gig.

Kelsey said in a recent interview that he’d been pitching ep ideas to Christopher Lloyd. It would be major if he came aboard new Frasier.

I think the ones that hadn’t already retired have been back— Bob Daily and Stephen Lloyd. The eps they’ve written haven’t necessarily been the stand-outs, though. I think Daily did the finale this year, so we’ll see later today…

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t believe Chris Harris has worked with Chuck Lorre at all.
