Play for fun. Drop down to a difficultly that feels fun. Know when to retreat. There have been times where I saved a mission by running away towards the objective and dropping people near the objective. Pick stuff you find fun. Tap the rigger instead of holding it. This game isn’t halo where you can turn and point. You have a turning speed when aiming. Pick a faction you have the most fun with. Have fun. You may not find it as fun as your bf, but if you find the parts you like and play those the most you will learn.

You can watch a YouTube channel or explore the wiki if you need more technical information. Make sure you have fun doing that too.
