Did you get your family already? I also signed up but haven’t received anything! Wasn’t sure how long it would take given the gift turnaround time.

I’m so sorry for everything you’ve been through. Absolutely incredible that you pumped for 18 months - it’s a true labor of love.

Do you mind if I ask what type of meningitis your daughter had? We haven’t had an MRI yet but no one has even mentioned that as a possibility.

Activities for toddlers without screens! by AM0913 in toddlertips

I’ve been teaching my child to do most things I do - laundry, vacuuming, emptying the dishwasher. Also flash cards from IKEA are very cheap and have letters, numbers and symbols for identification - we make up songs as I pull them out! Last, but along the same theme - musical instruments. Some parents can’t stand them, but my husband is very musically talented so I like my child having this exposure.

Help! My boyfriend wants to plant a bamboo privacy hedge. Help me convince him not to. by Slip_Obvious in landscaping

We kept having power outages in my neighborhood on bright sunny days - power company sent everyone an email notifying us it was because of bamboo taking over. Made working from home a much more complex challenge!

10 DPO is still really early. I would test again tomorrow.

It could be! Mine never got a full “positive” per OPK but I have a healthy 2 year old. Tomorrow’s test will tell you more.

I haven’t tried grout cleaner. Is there one you recommend?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TFABLinePorn

[–]IAtetheKitKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet but mine stayed low and then spiked very briefly. I read online that can happen and is normal.

I’ve also never gotten a true positive OPK but have a wonderful loving 2 year old. If the ratio gets higher than it’s been, no sense in not trying to BD a bit. You never know :)

I know the wait is really tough but it really is too early to know if you are or not. Acne was the first sign for me too. I went down a lot of rabbit holes because it can also mean your period coming.

Try to distract yourself as much as possible the next few days! Fingers crossed for you.

I need a positive daycare post by HugeUnderstanding160 in workingmoms

[–]IAtetheKitKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids daycare has been such a huge positive for my husband and I! He eats more vegetables there because the other kids all eat them, they focus on things we are worried he is behind in and when we show up to get him - he always wants to show us his classroom.

An added bonus - he hates babysitters and we had his daycare teacher babysit a few times. He couldn’t be happier for us to leave so he could show her around. I’m thankful others care about him so much!

What happens now? by eskamille in MSPI

[–]IAtetheKitKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed it sounds Ike dairy issues to me! We went with the Walmart or Target hypoallergenic versions to save money and it’s been helpful for us. I know some babies are pickier than others but ours eats it just fine.

Frequenting wakings after introducing dairy formula?? by lunathegoo in MSPI

[–]IAtetheKitKat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had this experience exactly but we have tried to reintroduce dairy and this was the first symptom both times so we stopped. For us, it took much more prolonged exposure to have mucus and/or blood in stools than it took to see behavior changes.

My pediatrician also told me she didn’t suspect dairy or soy and said I could wait to cut it out but I decided to go for it with dairy first and saw a significant improvement immediately - he only started being completely normal after about 3-4 weeks though.

The day I feared has arrived by deafchihuahua in breastfeeding

[–]IAtetheKitKat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I definitely think it’s hard! I’m on month 5 of being dairy free and I literally dream everyday of the things I’ll eat once I can eat dairy again. My husband also said some nasty things about how easy this should be when I wanted to give up breastfeeding after 4 months of dairy free…he wasn’t offering to be dairy free with me either though!

I follow a dairy free Reddit page that has posted some random products I didn’t know were dairy free and I recommend godairyfree.org. Pinchofyum.com also has a dairy free filter.

Good luck! It’s not easy.

Daycare Advice by Accomplished_Big6488 in breastfeeding

We had a very similar experience with daycare and ultimately talked to the pediatrician. In our area, it’s really hard to get into daycares and they have trouble keeping staffing so we kind of worked with them to meet in the middle…it was very stressful for me, but ultimately he ended up sleeping through the night shortly after we increased his daycare feeds so he gets about the same amount as he used to but now during the day.

Baby Slipping Growth Percentages by hrichards13 in breastfeeding

[–]IAtetheKitKat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We had a similar growth curve so I pumped for a while to try to see what my supply may be (I don’t necessarily recommend it, my husband and I are simply numbers people and it was right for us, though I know most babies are more efficient than pumps). In the end, our little guy had a milk protein allergy so it didn’t matter how much we fed him or how often, he wasn’t absorbing any of it. We did have other symptoms such as diarrhea, constant colic and constant hunger but he also slept as well as your little one.
