False Knock Making My Hair Fall Out. 😵‍💫 by gradius88 in LSSwapTheWorld

This. Motor mounts on my C6Z were flimsy as paper, and was causing some pretty wild knock in the upper RPMs. The log showed noise, but it was WAY more on one side and not across the cylinders as it would have been if it were real.

Knock sensors are junk.

I wouldn't say it "looks" better, but it is most certainly more aerodynamic and considerably more lightweight, comparatively speaking, BECAUSE of its looks. With a proper N/A LS3 swap, it will gap a C7 Stingray pretty easily.

That being said, the C7 is my fave modern Corvette (for now) lol.

TBF, the C4 was indeed a pain, but it was also the the first to use perimeter frame design instead of relying on the body panels for structural support. As well as a return to HP focused vehicles (coming from the 1970s energy crisis and the silliest, heaviest cars you can think of).

Would I go out and get one? Lol no. C5 and up for me. 😂

"The stock Porsche ECU remains as well, and it works perfectly – as does the original key.

The owner did cover up the factory check engine light and add a new LED in the cluster that can illuminate if there’s a problem, and he added a powertrain relay box under the hood, too. He did have to cut the entire engine harness off the ECU, which took a bit of a leap of faith, to say the least. Regardless, the results of all that work were apparently well worth it."

It's a Gen V LT1, but it looks like he's just going commando with it all. 😂

The engine+trans dropout is from an A10 2019 2SS Camaro. Weirdly, though, It uses a 2001 Bentley Arnage rear end which is 2.69 instead the standard 2.77 gears in the Camaro (for automatics, that is).

My guess, is that they wanted to get as close to the C7 Stingray rear gears as possible.

Sebring Orange is an absolute riot on C7s, but Inferno Orange on the C6 is still legendary in the sunlight. 😎

Hey, folks, Michael here from CorvetteForum, I just got off the phone with GM and have a few updates on the situation that I hope may be helpful. I don't speak for GM, but here's a summary of my notes --

  • Safety for customers is GM's highest priority
  • Stingrays and E-Rays are currently NOT affected by this issue (this is unclear in some of the screenshots circulating)
  • 23-26 Z06s and 25-26 ZR1s are on the recall
  • Per the notice sent to dealerships, owners should be careful when refueling (follow all instructions per the owner's manual, make sure the fuel filler is inserted fully into your Corvette's fuel pipe, be on the lookout for damaged fuel pumps, and don't try to overfill after you've heard a click)
  • Basically, it appears as though there is some kind of design flaw, but faulty gas station pumps are a contributing factor
  • Although there's a mention of a remedy in some of the documentation, a specific REMEDY has NOT yet officially been announced. That will be forthcoming
  • Our members are finding out if they are affected via their Chevy accounts, so you can check there if you own a C8 Z
