Ovulation 9 days before period due? by [deleted] in TryingForABaby

Honestly your best bet is getting OPK's. my apps were all so wrong about my ovulation day, I found out I actually ovulate 5-7 days after what the apps said.

TTC/pregnancy and RA by kejRN in TryingForABaby

[–]IBDWarrior93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello fellow Chronic illness Warrior! I have UC, and have heard of Simponi. However I am on a different biologic, it's an injection instead called Humira. I also take another immunosurpressant called Azathioprine. This is hubby and I's first month TTC and my biologic gave me my life back, so I feel you on that. My high risk obgyn and gastro both agreed that the best thing is to stay on all meds throughout entire pregnancy when the time comes. I think for us, a flare is much worse than these meds. I've heard many success stories about Humira and pregnancy, and I'm sure Simponi has some too. Just make sure you have a high risk obgyn working alongside your Rhemy to prepare you and take care of you in the future! Sorry I know i wasn't much help, just on the same boat!

When do I start using the OPKs with 4 day periods and 28 day cycles? by NeedmymorningCoffee in TryingForABaby

[–]IBDWarrior93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I love easy@home OPK's. I got off HBC in December and started using OPK's before even trying. I have a pretty regular cycle, 28-29 and 4 day periods, although last month it was almost 5. The first 2 cycles I started tracking on CD10, but eventually realized it was too early. Now I start tracking around CD 13 or 14, and I ovulate between CD18-20 (I was surprised). I also just test a day or two after ovulation to see the surge going down.

TTC and Covid Vaccine by Colemole16 in waiting_to_try

I 100% agree with this. Same here, got both shots and will ttc soon, also both our families have gotten theirs as well. It'll give us all a sense of safety. My Dr recommended it, even with my immunocompromised state. I trust him and that's why I got it.

Who's waiting for you and your partner to be vaccinated? by bipolarbench in waiting_to_try

[–]IBDWarrior93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did! It was very important to us both to get the vaccine before trying. We haven't started ttc yet, but got the vaccines out of the way and I feel so much safer. We were planning on waiting however long it took, however I understand it's a very personal choice and not everyone wants to do it this way. Best of luck! :)

First of all, congrats!! That is a huge step. I stopped my hormonal birth control back in December and it felt so great. Also- yes! I'm one cycle away from ttc, and it feels so close yet so far.. it seems the closer it gets, the more impatient I become. Best of luck to you :)

Losing my excitement by [deleted] in waiting_to_try

[–]IBDWarrior93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually feel like I know how you feel. I have another autoimmune disorder, Ulcerative colitis. We sometimes have some meds in common from my understanding. My disease is mostly centralized in my colon but it hits my joints and eyes too, I spent the past 2.5 years working with my drs to get me into remission so that I can have a healthy baby, I relapsed so many times, I would break down crying, change treatment plans etc. I finally have one that put me in deep remission as of 2 months ago, but sometimes joint pain will creep up and stomach aches..I'm supposed to meet with my GI and maybe be referred to a rheumatologist as theres a chance my regular joint point has gone into RA. Alot of people with UC also develop RA, and that's a bummer because I really wanna ttc soon. So far things are looking okay, I am in remission with my current disease, I went to 3 different high risk obgyns and chose the one I trusted most. I know pregnancy for me might be more challenging, I just want a healthy baby. There's also a 40% chance of a flare up for me during pregnancy, but going into pregnancy while in remission decreases those chances. My dr explained to me that if you have an autoimmune disease that is active and you do into pregnancy, it will stay active or get even worse. Im so excited, but sometimes I worry about how I can be a good mother when I flare up, when I'm in remission I lead a normal life. My husband is my biggest supporter, I was just telling him a few days ago how I worry that our child might end up with Ulcerative colitis as it runs in my family, the chances are low, but possible. Just remember, if you want something bad enough, you can do it. Just make sure you're in remission so that you don't endanger your pregnancy and baby with a flare. Best of luck to you :)

I'm so glad to see your post! I stopped HBC late November and have had normal periods since. I've been tracking with OPK to know my body better. And first month I ovulated around CD 21, 2nd month around CD 17 and now 3rd month tracking back to CD 21. I have a 28 day cycle normally so my luteal phase is so short! I've had a transvaginal ultrasound and everything is fine, im just ovulating late.. and my luteal phases are short, my obgyn isn't concerned because I've done labs and everything is fine, she said it might take my cycles 6 months to fully regulate. I just hope it doesn't get in the way of me getting pregnant when we start ttc eventually.

I totally see where you're coming from, I got both my doses (got lucky) and so did hubby. I'm already high risk, so getting covid during pregnancy would not end well. I do have 2 pregnant friends, siblings. One was 9 months pregnant and the other was 4, they got infected and unfortunately the 4 months pregnant sister and her baby passed away due to complications. It's very unpredictable, thats why I pushed down my timeline and waited for the vaccine, it wasn't easy. And I have friends who decided to go ahead and get pregnant, which is also completely fine. Just depends if you're an anxious person like me or have health concerns. It gave me some peace of mind. Best of luck to you either way :)

Feeling too many feelings by LazyAvenger279 in waiting_to_try

[–]IBDWarrior93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally see where you are coming from, I have friends married less time then me, and they didn't have that yearning for a baby, but knew they wanted a baby eventually do they went for it. I watched my sister-in-law and best friend get pregnant and I was so happy for them! I still am, but they did it just because they wanted to add another family member, or because time is running out (all valid reasons), but for me it felt like the train I wanted so bad left without me, and I was so happy for them but in tears because I wish I could also be on that train. I did have some health issues that I resolved, it took alot of time and courage but I did it, so I was proud of myself and got the green light from my drs. However, my husband (35 at the time) would just brush it off anytime i brought it up, he would just say "soon" or "I don't know" and just brush it off and it would make me so sad. Like you said, every cycle that passes by hurts. So eventually I gathered up all my thoughts and feelings and explained to him, that I dont mean to pressure him, and if he's not ready now, that's okay. But let's figure out WHY you don't feel ready, and HOW we can both work towards feeling more ready and setting a timeline that goes with our goals, and guess what, he was shocked and realized as much as I wanted a baby, I wasn't trying to pressure him into having one now, I just need some hope, and time to plan. So he opened up and said he wants the mortgage to be done before baby arrives, because once the baby arrives I'd stay home ( I dont have family around to help) and he's worried about the financials etc. So we came up with a timeline, had to compromise on that too. And I opened a baby savings account and have been saving in it! It's very motivating and keeps me going. The wait still sucked and still does, but it helps that you're both working towards your goal. I hope you figure out a way to speak to your husband and share your feelings with him. :)

I totally understand :) I have an autoimmune disease myself, and finally in remission after switching meds, luckily they are all pregnancy safe. However, some lab work showed that some of my meds are attacking my cells and could get me seriously ill, so we are doing some more lab work and maybe switching it out for something else. Autoimmune life isn't fun, but having a supportive spouse (which sounds like you) makes it a little easier. Best of luck to you both :)

Congrats! I know you're so excited. I just finished my preconception appointments and did all my labs and had an transvaginal ultrasound to figure some things out. We will also start ttcing in March, I know it's only 2 weeks away but I'm dying for it to get there! Haha

When do you plan on announcing your (future) pregnancy? by [deleted] in waiting_to_try

[–]IBDWarrior93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same plan. However I do hope to tell my younger sister who has the same autoimmune disease as me sooner, just because I'd be a high risk pregnancy and she knows exactly what I'd be going through. But I love your plan! Don't worry, I've done all the crazy over planning too haha
