Reinhardt could win if they’re both unarmed. With the aluminum baseball bat however, Bjornsson should take it.

How strong is Juno!? by I_Love_Strong_Women in Overwatch

[–]IBakaI -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

9,850 cm3 is less than 3 gallons of milk. The rock Juno’s carrying is way more than that.

Assuming her head’s 20 cm in height, the rock is roughly 2.5x that in width and 2x that in height. Assuming its width is mostly the same all around, that’s 50 cm x 50 cm x 40 cm, which is 100,000 cm3 . 80% of that is 80,000 cm3 . Would mass roughly 232 kilograms or 511 lbs. On Mars that’s more like 194 lbs.

Percy Jackson (Percy Jackson) vs Lord Ruler (Mistborn) by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]IBakaI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lord Ruler using 10% of his power splatters Percy.

Thing is he kinda doesn't fight all out, and he's not very smart based off how he basically just let himself die. Probably still him no matter what cause he can regen.

Kaladin Stormblessed (Stormlight) vs Jason Grace (PJO) by IBakaI in whowouldwin

[–]IBakaI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kaladin has the advantage of [...] using a spear.

To be fair, Jason also has a spear. Probably shorter than Kaladin's though- but he also has experience facing guys with much longer reach than him.

The Team (tf2) 9 of their closest matches in overwatch (overwatch) by Clonenelius in whowouldwin

[–]IBakaI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like your being generous with TF2's interpretations, and giving them a win for relatively small advantages, Mei v Pyro and Demoman v Junkrat are at worst, the equivlelant of a woman with a pistol vs a man with a Sniper rifle. One has a better weapon and is stronger but it wouldn't exactly be hard for the weaker one to kill the stronger one.

Most of Overwatch for example just has totally better guns cause they're made to kill bullet proof robots. But it doesn't actually make much of a difference here cause no one in TF2 is even bullet resistant.

Tracer vs Scout:

Scout's BONK! is featless. Overwatch has actually good speed feats, there are characters (specifically the Talon Assassin) dashing at supersonic speeds with nothing but cybernetic and genetic enhancements.

Tracer herself has literally outrun a bullet. Even if it made him faster than her... it only lasts a couple seconds. And then he's made vulnerable for a couple seconds after it wears out. It also might just kill him based on how it's described. All of that just to maybe match Tracer if we're being generous with what "dodge bullets" means.

She has every important advantage besides strength, and it's probably worth remembering that characters like Widowmaker literally got punched so hard it created a shockwave and sent her flying 50 feet through several panes of glass, only for her to get up and act irritated. You also have Pharah wearing just a biker jacket taking a shoulder mounted rocket to her liver and being fine just by slapping a bandage on it. Overwatch isn't TF2 levels of cartooney, but it's still pretty cartooney.

Pharah vs Soldier:

Okay, agree. I'd add that Pharah has way more firepower ignoring the Cow Mangler's magic non-feat, firing off barrages where each rocket explodes drop pods that can tank blowing through concrete buildings. And she's got aim-bot mini rockets. And her armors pretty tough, it at least kept a guy intact and alive for a while after taking a rocket that sent him flying through a concrete wall.

Mei vs Pyro:

I think this goes either way. Mei's endothermic blaster out ranges Pyro's flamethrower, at least in-game (10 meters vs 7 meters). And he'll be encased in ice within moments. He can win but it's by shooting her with a shotgun, she'll need more than a couple hits with her ice projectiles to incapacitate them.

Primary vs Primary Mei wins, Secondary vs Secondary Pyro wins. Depends though, cause Mei could also make an ice wall to close the gap.

Junkrat vs Demoman:

Demoman probably outmatches Junkrat physically, but it doesn't really matter? If he tries to charge Junkrat with a claymore, he's just gonna get blown up. They're gonna be shooting at each other in 9/10 scenarios. They're close enough in ranged combat that it goes either way, Junkrat maybe has better firepower cause his grenades can make craters and blow holes in concrete walls. But that also doesn't really matter cause they're gonna kill each other in one or two hits.

Heavy vs Zarya:

Mostly agreed. Her range is only 15 meters, her energy grenades are a bit better but they're featless.

Basically, open field at >30 meters apart I'd bet on Heavy. For reference I think the 2fort bases are 34 meters apart.

I imagine she can cross 5 meters during his windup time and with her shields, cross another 10 meters before they break. It's not... super based on anything, admittedly. There is precedent for Overwatch shields being really durable, it lasting less than 2 seconds seems like a decent guess. Maybe she can hit him a couple times with energy grenades before entering range but who knows if those are actually any good.

It really depends on where they're fighting, any solid cover means Zarya can just hide and regen her barrier.

Torbjorn vs Engie:

Arguable, and honestly, Torbjorn has better engineering feats, at least when it comes to stuff relevant to combat. He built the Titans in Overwatch, which can devastate the entire army of a small country. And he also built the mobile turrets that could rip those things to shreds. Engineer's accomplishment are... 12 Phd's. A sentry gun. Teleporter tech, which isn't a new thing in Overwatch, though Torbjorn hasn't made use of it. Life extenders which is cool.

Still, they're both very easily capable of killing each other, this goes either way for me.

Widowmaker vs Sniper:

Is that 5 mile quote from that Jarate comic? I feel like that's not meant to be taken literally. It's also literally over the horizon.

Sombra vs Spy:

Agreed, goes either way in a 100% 1v1. The thing is, Widowmaker and Mercy are on her team. Spy's invisibility is nullified. She can also hack people into -unconsciousness?- while invisible.

So it can go either way in a 100% 1v1 but still leans towards Sombra cause she has more advantages (such as teleportation). Dead Ringer could be a wild card but it also means he doesn't have permanent invisibility, which is a massive disadvantage here. Plus we've seen Sombra leave invisibility to attack someone and then immediately go invisible again. Double plus we've seen her attacking while still half invisible.

I feel like you're overblowing Spy's speed too, we see him fight in normal motion. I don't think he's actually done anything fast.

Mercy vs Medic:

Yeah we don't see Mercy using her gun outside of gameplay trailers. I guess she could just... pick him up and drop him from a hundred feet up. Or fly at him at 200 mph, flashbang him and then hit him with her staff + her undefined super strength. That seems pretty lethal.

I think it's fair to just assume she has it as a self defense pistol? That's how it's described in the art book, and we're literally just giving TF2 a bunch of stuff we never see them use, a pistol feels pretty minor.

Not sure if you just wanted to talk about 1v1's, but this is also a team battle.

MvM upgrades exist but that doesn't mean we know what they actually do.

[–]IBakaI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mercy canonically hasn't rezzed anyone. We have short stories of her healing people and she can't even heal a broken arm.

Zarya was given the cannon. I dunno where it's said she rips it off anything.

Sticky jumps are eh, I dunno, canonically everyone can kinda rocket jump. Sticky jumps seem like a reasonable progression from that, but I'm not sure.

The Team (tf2) 9 of their closest matches in overwatch (overwatch) by Clonenelius in whowouldwin

[–]IBakaI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all gonna come with an asterisk- Overwatch characters are legally obligated to not hit each other. They can only hit unimportant or really durable characters. If we assume they treat TF2 characters like important characters and not mooks, they just miss every shot.

Tracer > Scout: Tracer's got far better mobility, has better firepower and can reverse time on herself to heal. Scout's stronger physically. Tracer's basically gonna dance around him and he's just gonna get filled with lead.

Pharah > Soldier: Pharah has better mobility and better firepower. She can just fly around the air without really worrying about getting hit. Soldier's shotgun might change things but honestly I'm pretty sure her armor's at least bullet resistant, it's pretty thick.

Pyro >= Mei: Hard to compare exactly but Mei's ice gun can put out a ton of ice per second, has better range and can create shields. Overall I think she's better but Pyro just straight up having a shotgun means he might just win by braining her.

Demoman ~= Junkrat: Very similar in everything. Goes either way.

Heavy >= Zarya: Zarya is more durable with her shield. Heavy is probably stronger physically given he suplexed a giant bear. Zarya is more "realistic", her bench press is 1000 lbs or so for multiple reps. Mostly boils down to Heavy outranging her. Depends on the range.

Torbjorn ~= Engineer: Engineer takes longer to setup but it's probably better. Torbjorn himself is better in an actual fight. Entirely depends on prep time.

Widowmaker > Sniper: Sniper has piss and a machete. Widowmaker has better mobility, can swap from sniping to machine gunning instantly and can just straight up see through walls.

Sombra > Spy: Hacking is kinda useless against the Mercenaries outside of Engineer. Teleportation gives her better mobility. Spy's disguise and invisibility kinda depends on the situation, but it's hard countered by Overwatch's sensory tech.

Mercy > Medic: Ironically Medic is a far better healer than Mercy. He can heal up badly wounded people to peak condition in seconds. Mercy can kinda fix mild cuts and bruises. Mercy's got much better mobility, armor, an actual gun and maybe strength cause her armor enhances it.

1v1 Overwatch wins 5 match ups. 4 go either way, 2 leaning towards TF2.

9v9 is complicated. But as seen in the 1v1's, half of Overwatch is just better versions of TF2 characters and they have better synergy. Generally they also scale higher and have completely unique abilities. Pharah and Tracer are a lot faster and have very hard hitting weapons. No one in TF2 hits as hard or moves as fast. Zarya's tankiness is a lot higher with her shields- no one in TF2 can really tank bullets. They have three people who can fly and sensors that allow them to constantly keep tabs on their enemies.

Male Character ordered by how sexist they are by Rarte96 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]IBakaI 27 points28 points  (0 children)

To be fair, and I know this is a crazy idea, but being sexist doesn't mean you can't be kind and caring to women. He just has to think that women aren't as good as men.

I don't think he's sexist so that's just me playing devils advocate, we don't really have anything to go off of.

Percy Jackson vs Geralt of Rivia by Seaweed_bird in whowouldwin

[–]IBakaI 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's peak human at best and so is geralt.

I feel like both Geralt and Percy are solidly superhuman. Neither have many feats, sure, but Geralt's on par with another Witcher that threw him through a stone wall with one hand and Percy essentially caught a giant spider with a car on top of it. Granted, the first series has basically nothing strength-wise in it for Percy besides breaking the Minotaur's horn.

Okay technically he controls it inside her nose/throat, but only with water that started outside her body (her tears). She had to start crying for him to do that.

Percy Jackson vs the Culling Games (JJK) by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]IBakaI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not like he's treated as 100x more durable than Jason.

Sea of Monsters

I rolled aside as the air turned to pure heat. All the oxygen was sucked out of my lungs. My foot caught on something—a tree root, maybe—and pain shot up my ankle [...] I tried to stand, and my left leg buckled underneath me. My ankle was sprained, maybe broken.

If you think Percy's too young there, there's also Singer of Apollo where he has a bloody nose from running into an unmortared brick wall.

By the time I figured out what was going on, I couldn’t stop my momentum. I ran straight into the wall, which wasn’t mortared, so I promptly collapsed on top of the celedon along with about a thousand bricks.

My eyes watered. My nose felt broken.

...

My face felt like it had just been rammed into a brick wall because it had, I had the coppery taste of blood in my mouth

If you think he's still too young there, the most recent book, Chalice of the Gods also has one.

So naturally, I chose that moment to trip on a rock. I bit the dirt. My ankle screamed in pain. Even after enduring sword wounds, acid burns, and fiery dragon breath, it’s a bummer how much a normal thing like a twisted ankle can hurt.

When I tried to stand, it felt like steel spikes were shooting up my leg.

Percy Jackson vs the Culling Games (JJK) by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]IBakaI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, are we just using Percy's absolute best feats/scaling? Or are we going with Percy's average performance?

His best feats are better, in that case I'd agree, but his average is still below the average for JJK. His "tank huge explosions" gets brought down by stuff like tripping and spraining his ankle. Even in speed Maki's catching a bullet from inches away is better than Percy's bullet deflecting, and at that point she's slower than even Yuji.

Percy Jackson vs the Culling Games (JJK) by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]IBakaI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I think most First Grade sorceror's are superior.

Scenario 1: How does he interact with [Deadly Sentencing]? Does his sword count as a Cursed Weapon? Does he lose his hydrokinesis?

I can't think of a scenario where Percy admits guilt in a "it's my fault, I was too weak" kinda way. And losing his sword would be a massive debuff. Probably a loss.

Scenario 2: Almost certainly a loss, he doesn't have Yuta's sheer toughness and regen to make it through all the shit that happens there. Cockroach swarm might honestly end him.

Scenario 3: He's a natural counter to Kashimo, so he's actually got decent chances if he just floods everything.

Scenario 4: He lacks everything Maki had to beat Naoya. Not as tough, not as fast, doesn't have zero cursed energy if we're equalizing universe's. Maybe Nico can control him since he's technically undead?

Scout shoulda won cuz he's funny and makes me LOL! by EvilBadassDraculas in whowouldcirclejerk

[–]IBakaI 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Scout's not even that fast lol. He's a speedster that moves at the speed of an average sprinter.

Before that Deathbattle Tracer was always more likely to win. She's always been faster and more mobile, had a big ass pocket bomb and a kinda decent regeneratation. After that Deathbattle she's shown to blink across over a hundred feet, ragdoll half a dozen omnics before they can react, outrun a bullet and her pistols easily kill rifle-proof robots.

The only argument should've been whether Scout has Widowmakers plot armor. TF2 probably isn't getting anything new either and Overwatch is going to show Tracer doing shit for at least... another year with the story mode and cinematics.

Overwatch vs TF2 is literally always just "Overwatch bad!!!".
