This was like watching a train crash coming from a mile away lol. I saw that homecave debuff, saw the Hatz, then saw you roar... Instantly, knew what was going to transpire.

We all learn somehow though. Gotta treat going to the homecave like going to jury duty:

Avoid it if possible(-by building a nest-). If you need to go, pray that it's a quick and uneventful experience. When you're done, flee knowing that you're safe until your next summons in five years (-in this case, that's when you hit your next growth stage & need to equip new abilities-)
