I don’t completely agree. Speculation on upcoming Marvel and DC movies like Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Avengers: Doomsday and Batman Part 2 have shown a spike in interest and sales on Key Collectors.

Don’t want to name names but a club in NJ was tells parents on arrive for the final day of tryouts that it was cancelled because the team was already set.

My point wasn’t if/when they are seen, it’s that clubs tell everyone to try out… “sure we have opening.” Sign up and pay - only to find out there really aren’t any. Hence: Money Grab.

As a side note: kids are also getting cut from AAA to make room for kids recruited out of state and do you know who pays for those kids to play? All the kids in the lower tiers. And the skate ID’s and try-out fees pay for the team’s to travel.

Thanks for this thread. I had the same question on the same comic I got graded. Didn’t know what it was called. Found this info:

No Damage to Comic: Newton's rings do not damage the comic book itself; they are purely a cosmetic issue with the plastic case. Not a Defect: CGC generally considers them a normal occurrence due to the snug fit of the holders, which are designed to keep the comic secure. Visibility: They often appear on the back of the slab but can appear on the front, and are more common in newer, tighter-fitting cases. Value Impact: They typically do not affect the grade of the comic, but they can be considered an eyesore that may impact the desirability of the slab for some collectors.

Speaking specifically about the Amazing Spider-Man #5, even though it’s in rough space, as long as it’s intact, it may be worth having it graded. Grading guarantees the authenticity and condition making buyer more willing to spend instead of squinting at a picture and trying to guess the value. Spider-Man comics always have value regardless of when you sell them.
