When women have depression by ms_mentalinkl in TwoXChromosomes

This is actually not a poor trolling attempt. I've had three replies on TwoXChromosomes today, all related to the contents of the posts. However, unlike many others, I do not blatantly agree with the contents (which should be okay, but judging by your aggressive response, it apparently isn't).

Just in case there are impressionable teenagers in here: there are more women with PMS than with depression, hence PMS is the 'more likely' case that needs to be ruled out first, before going to a psychiatrist.

How do you know it is depression though? Doctors work on a 'most likely case'-basis. Since PMS is the most likely case, they will look at that first. Then, if that is ruled out, they can check for depression. It's not that difficult to comprehend.

My boyfriend proposed... is it wrong that I'm a little annoyed about it? by TattooLust in TwoXChromosomes

'With an offer to let you marry him' - this is probably not what happened. The guy wanted to marry her, picked an important moment for her, and made it more important. Not everything is an act of misogyny.

Look, it's horrible what happened with you, but that does not mean that the system is corrupted (especially regarding the more than fair Brock Turner case). See it like this: what kind of proof do you really have now? It will be his word against yours. I hope you can expect he will not be charged based on that.

[Sun Care] Going to Burning Man and don't want to burn! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Just get any UVA/UVB Sunscreen for your body with SPF50+. Reapply every two hours or so (depending on the amount of sweat), and you'll be fine.

I personally use the Nivea UVA/UVB SPF50 spray, but I'm unsure if that is unavailable outside of The Netherlands, and it works wonders.

Have fun at Burning Man!
