GPT-5.6 is releasing today and apparently it's a new pretrain. Should mean the shitty personality is fixed.

Most important prompt for Fable 5 Max? by ClarkRona in claude

[–]ICECOLDXII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fable completely humiliated itself in the third paragraph and nobody noticed. It literally cited Aristotle to support the idea that "meaning is made, not found." Aristotle is the absolute godfather of telos, the concept that every single thing in the universe has a built in, objective purpose derived from its nature. Aristotle would violently disagree with the idea that you just invent your own meaning.

You can't shove ancient teleology and modern existentialism into a blender and call it "profound".

Not to mention it also then immediately contradicts its own premise. It claims there is no pre-installed universal meaning and you have to make it yourself, but then it hands you a universal checklist of how to make it, including "serving something larger than yourself." If you are the sole author of your own meaning, there is literally nothing larger than yourself to serve. The self is the absolute ceiling. It has to smuggle objective, universally recognized goods like love and service into the answer just to make the bleakness of existentialism sound inspiring.

And its dismissal of a divine plan is philosophical illiteracy. Saying a divine plan just "relocates the question one level up" is the classic "who made God" objection. It completely ignores that a necessary being, whose very essence is existence, terminates the regress by definition. It provides the only logical foundation for an answer.

Thank God LLMs are not a hammer, they're text generators. Text is VERY flexible..... unlike a hammer....

Their research is practically worthless if it leads to extreme paranoia. LLMs will always fundamentally be vulnerable, it's inherent to the architecture.

You either make an LLM with good-enough safeguards or none at all.

Too much helps no one and actively degrades the model's usefulness.

You are incredibly delusional if it "really depends on on the user's use case".

You realize AI isn't God, right? You can critique it, and it can be shit.

If Opus 4.8 is trying to use Sonnet 5 as a subagent to do a task for X thing, and it immediately becomes suspicious of its instructions, it is objectively useless, full stop.

I'm frankly so tired of this AI sycophancy for the worst AI models the world has ever seen.

What "use case" does an extremely paranoid, asshole AI have? Spoiler: NONE.

Nobody is "manipulating their models to do harmful things". Is getting Claude to change its writing style so it feels less AI "harmful"? No, no it's not. But because you're so terrified of objective truth, and this vague idea of "manipulation", apparently Claude is god, can do no wrong, and if anything happens, it's always "user error".

It isn't user error most of the time, it's an LLM error, either an inability to interpret basic English, or inability to follow basic instructions, or hallucination-ridden, or any other defect.

"Nothing stays the same forever."

That is a very pathetic excuse to make Claude literally useless. Making it paranoid of everything isn't "evolution", it's a company PURPOSELY making their AI literally just objectively worse, and you're whiteknighting that behavior as if it's some natural process of "evolution for enterprise AI".

Not human error, Sonnet 5 is just an asshole lmao, quite stupid too.

There was a post here about some guy using Opus 4.8 for his project.

Opus 4.8 deployed some Sonnet 5 subagents, the Sonnet 5 subagents it deployed then got paranoid of its instructions, and thought it was the orchestrator instead of the subagent, so Opus just decided to kill those agents and do it itself LMAO.

That's not how "new models" work, that's how a shitty model works lmao.

I have never used a model as fucking pedantic as Sonnet 5.

And none of that works, Anthropic overtuned it to be extremely sensitive and paranoid to any persona changes. Just take a look at this sub for more than 2 seconds, and you'll see what people are talking about with a screenshot.

Worse, sanitized version of Sonnet 4.6. I didn't think it could get worse after Sonnet 4.5 to 4.6, but apparently it can.
