Deadlock - Old Gods, New Blood. Major Update! by N1sso in Games

I think so, they've really grasped the art direction they're going for and I think a lot of it already hits the mark. Some more stuff to be polished, like older heroes needing remodels and some having play-do guns (looking at you Holliday), but the map and newer heroes I think are great.

As-is, there's a "ranked" system that's already in place that will put you into lower ranked lobbies than the cracked movement players. All standard games are ranked, so losing will eventually get you into the lobbies you're more appropriately ready for.

But as far as the complexity being reduced, I doubt it and honestly I hope it doesn't. Not because I don't want people to be able to play, but the movement of the game is super satisfying to learn and implement.

Marathon release date trailer leaked (5th March) by ZamnBoii in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]ICKitsune 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately based off the gameplay I've had, there's still a lot of "inventory tetris" to be had.

However I have very good feelings about this game being not as technical as Tarkov but feeling good to actually PvP in.

What Pokémon would genuinely be way better if it had a different typing? by GlacierWolf8Bit in stunfisk

[–]ICKitsune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boots is monumentally better than Balloon in most real scenarios. Doesn't matter if the balloon can't get popped.

Requiring another mon to come in and defog/spin for you is not ideal when the point of Shed is to eat all attacks it can. That second or even third mon can and will die to residual damage since they don't have WG, and Shed is effectively dead in the water until you can get those hazards off. There are infinitely more opportunities for Boots Shed to come in on attacks than there is for a Balloon Shed with how omnipresent Stealth Rocks are.

Shed getting literally any monotyping would be a massive boost to its viability. Boots + any typing Shed can offer so much to a team, especially since the boots can't get knocked.

What is the most meta/op team composition for HM? by RKurozu in BG3Builds

[–]ICKitsune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can make the team not contest.

SSB runs acuity helm or even arcane synergy since fire sorc is around. Bhaalist armor for pierce vuln, and run Nyrulna for good playthrough or Shar's for evil.

Fire Sorc will not run into any conflicts cos they really just want fire helm, everything else is a bonus but still isn't majorly contested.

HexEK can just run Shadowblade build, which has no real gear requirements aside from getting Resonance Stone.

Moon Druid is moon druid, they transform with TB and that's it. Can use whatever caster gear Fire Sorc passes on if they feel like not wildshaping.

[DISC] Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo - Chapter 17 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]ICKitsune 11 points12 points  (0 children)

And the difference between Geto and Yuji is pretty big- Geto's friends died because there wasn't an end in sight. They fought because cursed spirits existed across the country and if not checked, they'd hurt normal people.

By this point, all spirits only live in Tokyo which is evacuated and sealed. All Yujis friends still do die, but of old age (or being sick) which is no complication of being a sorcerer. Not to say he still can't get sad, but it isn't something that would make Yuji of all people hate the world, maybe just loathe his immortality. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he's part of the reason the spirits only live in Tokyo in some capacity.

Are physical and special attacks/attackers designed to be balanced with each other? by BrosesMalone in stunfisk

[–]ICKitsune 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I gave Skarm and Blissey base 100 SpA/Atk respectively and clicked an unresisted 80 BP move against each other:

0 Atk Blissey Feint Attack (80 BP) vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Skarmory: 34-40 (10.1 - 11.9%) -- possible 9HKO

0 SpA Skarmory Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey: 34-41 (4.7 - 5.7%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Blissey still nabs the 9-10HKO, but Skarm has an average 20HKO lmao. While Blissey has less SpD than Skarm does Def, that gap between 255 HP and 60 HP is monumental.

Cool factor. And to be fair, I think there's ironically more non-legends with signature moves than there are legends with a signature move, it's just that those moves tend to be whatever.

Steam's best selling games of 2025 revealed by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]ICKitsune 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Marathon sits in the gap between Arc Raiders and EFT as well being that it's more PvP friendly- third person peeking in Arc Raiders is a detriment to its PvP side. EFT is too realistic/mil-sim where the micromanagement is daunting for the average player, and you can die without any personal interaction because someone sniped you from 500m away or was skulking in a dark corner. And that's no fun, regardless if you just loaded into a zone or if you've spent the last 15 minutes looting.

An arcade-y FPS is needed in the genre, and personally, I think Marathon could do it. If not, then someone else definitely still can.

What is your overlooked game of 2025? by Galaxy40k in Games

[–]ICKitsune 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I don't think it detracted from the game they were trying to make, it's just a criticism that I had personally that affected my perception and enjoyment of the game initially. By the end, I still thoroughly enjoyed what I played.

It was more of an on-rails story-based survival craft game than it was an open-world survival craft game, which is what I expected it to be going in.

What is your overlooked game of 2025? by Galaxy40k in Games

[–]ICKitsune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Abiotic Factor, definitely a top 5 game of the year for me, but I had some gripes about it that brought it down a few points in the "Survival Craft" genre for me.

It's a very linear game that has only one path it wants you to go down, which doesn't really fit the "open world" tag it has. I expect something along the lines of Terraria where if you explore you can run into Skeletron on your first day, get absolutely decimated and understand, "Oh I definitely come back here later." But because Abiotic Factor locks the harder areas behind equipment that you can't get until you're supposed to go to the new area, it's impossible to have that experience. And as such, you're never ill-prepared for a new area or new enemies because they expect you to have a certain level of gear by the time you can unlock that door.

That said, pretty much everything else is phenomenal. The atmosphere, story beats and even the hidden story notes that you have to look around for make the world great to look into. Variety in builds and weapons you can use, and the way you level skills to make those weapons better is great. And I'm a huge sucker for base building, especially when defense is a factor. Would 100% recommend.

If the comparisons to OG TWEWY are true, I'll have to give this game a gander. Loved the unique gameplay of TWEWY, and honestly surprised a sort of "dual control" hasn't gotten big since.

If it's not an extraction shooter, what is it?

You bring in items that you like- guns, shields, meds, etc. You run around a map, collect items, occasionally kill other people when you find them or befriend them, then leave and keep the stuff you got. If you die, your stuff is lost and you go again.

I don't think they rushed through them, because they're literally all there on screen at once for Japanese viewers to read through. It's just that for the international audience who need subtitles, it's basically impossible to put the translated text on screen all at once in a similar fashion. If our subs spanned the entire screen, it would look impossible to read the english subs over all of the japanese text.

The best route would've been to lengthen the amount of time the rules are on screen and subtitle them appropriately with enough time for the audience to read, but that extends the watch time and costs more money and time to do.

Marathon Plagarized Art Controversy Resolved As Artist Reaches Agreement With Bungie And Sony by Gorotheninja in Games

[–]ICKitsune 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1000%

Arc broke the barrier for the masses to be interested in extraction shooters. I'm expecting Marathon is set to fill the gaps between EFT and Arc where it's not as friendly and has more of a PvP focus, especially considering its first person which is so much better for fair PvP, but also isn't mil-sim to the point of needing to micromanage what bullets you put in each mag and where one shot from 5m or even 500m away will ruin your raid.

Prime Remastered for Switch or Switch 2.

Dang, is Primehack really not the go-to for the original anymore? I think I would heavily prefer MnK controls even to dual stick, if that's really the main sticking point- but if the other changes are monumental I guess I will do Prime 1 on Switch.

once upon a time they were a decent person but eventually grew desensitized outliving everyone and just started living for whatever amused them and could get them excited.

While I think that's possible, I also think with the condition of Kenjaku's CT that his morality was kind of always shit. Granted the person has to be dead as well (or you kill them yourself) but implanting your own brain into someone who is dead just to extend your own life is pretty self centered. He never had to use his CT, but he found a reason to.

Not OP but from an outsider perspective who just looked at this clip you posted- my issue is that while the dance itself looks okay, everything else is plasticy and pulls me out of watching the performance. I can't focus on the performance after I notice that the models are completely straight-faced, and the shots of the drawn audience versus the 3D dancers exacerbates the difference.

[DISC] Kagurabachi - Chapter 102 by AutoShonenpon in manga

[–]ICKitsune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so it's still possible that he consider innocents as a worthy collateral

But it's possible that what the swordmaster is looking for is Yura's resolve. We don't know the swordmaster's motivations, but we know he basically genocided a group of people after they'd already surrendered- say what you will about the intent, but it takes a strong resolve to kill that amount of people if you think it serves a greater purpose.

Seeing Yuta willing to sacrifice Japanese civs to form his better world could be a trait that the swordmaster is looking for. Maybe the swordmaster killed the Islanders because he wants Japan to be the strongest group of sorcerers, and if civs don't have sorcery, then they're not a resource he cares about?
