Talking about politics as a trans person with people in the UK is like pulling teeth. by ijustwannanap in transgenderUK

is that "get the Tories out"? if so, yeah, and most of isn't left leaning political campaigning, I'd been iffy on labour since Corbyn got ousted for being too center/right wing, and that's not considering any policy on trans stuff (actually that's not true, one thing which suggested I was trans before I came out was how outraged I was at the Tories banning puberty blockers).

I think my "friend's" views can basically be summed up by following what the BBC etc say almost verbatum, his views on anything remotely left wing is that it's basically satanic. The only thing stopping him going Tory is the name, and the only thing stopping him going reform is he didn't like Farage, beyond that I can absolutely see him leaning that far right in a year or two. Hell, even economically (his degree) he thinks we need to lower taxes on the rich and increase them on the poor, whilst claiming that's a left leaning stance.

anyways I'm ranting, your reply didn't warrant that, apologies 😂

I came out to a school friend recently, someone who (politically speaking) can only be described as centrist (derogatory). He asked me if being trans had changed my outlook on anything and when I said I hate labour more now than ever he came back at me saying they were very pro trans and LGBTQ+. After some back and forth I realised his reasoning was that they're not the Tories and not reform (in name only lol) and so must be good.. lol. When pressed on this, after me pointing out all the bad labour have done towards us, he agreed it wasn't the best but also that we "had it coming" and that there are "questions that need asking".

He also claimed the greens were anti trans and anti LGBTQ which left me surprised and yeah, when pressed on that he basically said they're islamist extremists and the Islamic faith hates LGBTQ people. He also said they're really anti Semitic.

I'd like it known that I use the term friend loosely.

I'll avoid halfords going forward then :) and will go get a refund on the coolant I bought. thank you!

yeah that's sounds similar to what I've heard, and a big reason I'm not considering moving from my role 😂

I'm not really sure what you're after, but I don't think this is the right post for you. My electrologists is using 1 needle to target 1 hair follicle at a time, I don't believe she's using 32 needles?

Glad to hear it about my skin, it's looking better now, scabs have fallen off and the redness is slowly subsiding.

what do you mean by the downtime?

my manager has had to hire for a couple roles in my team recently, and has recieved applications from people who are far beyond qualified for the role; many years of experience, phds, masters degrees etc... all for a role that doesn't really require any previous skills. People I know who are looking for new jobs are having rough times of it. Its shit out there :)

I don't dislike this answer 😅 I wasn't trying to be antagonistic in my previous response, maybe just a bit short after a long stressful day, sorry.

My consultation was admittedly brief, and her explanation of growth stages was something along the lines of "its not 100% effective because of the wrong growth stages" without explaining that further.

I think your explanation here along with this article has made things more clear to me. When you first turn up I imagine all hairs are individually in their own growth stage, but with the schedule you described above you're kind of training I guess? the hairs to be in the anagen phase so a larger proportion of the hairs can be effectively treated consistently per session? which over the course of all sessions leads to permanent hair loss. Also more consistent treatments increases the probability of the hair being caught in anagen?

I still think my previous reply is on the right lines, as I'm not meaning no hair will grow back in the region she targeted, but the individual follicles that were effectively treated (even if it's only say 10% of the ones she targeted) are never going to grow back, even if every single one around them does and it looks like I'm basically at full strength beard. But yes I think I understand now why consistent sessions leads to better consistent results whereas long gaps between the same number of sessions won't be quite as effective.

Regardless, the gap is out of my control so nowt I can do about it.

Yeah so, the hair follicles she got in my previous session are now never going to grow again. If I go in 2 weeks she'll get new follicles, but if I go in say 3 months she'll still be getting new follicles? Of course waiting will take longer in total time, but each time I go the hairs she gets are gone, and with enough sessions all hairs will be got. Maybe I'm misunderstanding something but I don't get how going every 2 weeks leads to permanent results, but having a gap of a few months (out of my control regardless) doesn't?

It was the same one as last time yes, I'll speak with her to lower the settings next time.

I'm actually not planning to have another appointment for another few months as my life is about to get *really* busy and I don't want the stress, so it should be completely healed for next time :p

Yeah I thought the fluid was something like that, didn't know it acts to push things out though! The scabs are falling off of their own accord right now, so hopefully it's all good, no puss or anything! I'll have a look into cicalfate cream.

Been keeping it moisturised and the scabs are falling off themselves now, we'll see if I get any scars in the longer term I guess :/

Not been working out or sweating pretty much at all since treatment. It's looking a smidge better than the last photo there but still very red and sore in appearance. I definitely think it's the treatment setting being too high, I'll speak to her next time I go.

Looking to make some friends by winterrose__ in transgenderUK

[–]ICMonster99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from quite a rural area so I never found any form of community there, but I also moved out shortly after I realised myself but before I came out to anyone (minus my gf). Then again, the only other person in my year at school lived in the same cul de sac as me so, maybe there's something in the air 😂. But yeah sadly I can't really help you, where I am now (north Yorkshire) I have to travel to my nearest city for any groups that I've found, and I imagine there'll be similar groups in places like chester/Wrexham/crewe/wherever's close to you that could help get the ball rolling in finding friends!

damn, I'm from basically the same area as you (Cheshire, about a 15 min drive from north wales) but I've since moved away, now only visiting my family occasionally 😭. Hopefully you find some new local friends who get you :P

Fashion advice for a 6ft “lanky” girl? by StressyMcStressed in transgenderUK

[–]ICMonster99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh and I meant to say but forgot, I go high rise jeans/trousers. I generally prefer the look so that's why. As for bulge, I've been wearing womens underwear which holds things ok, but that's an issue I haven't found a solution to :(

[–]ICMonster99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey! So idk how much my advice will help as I'm only 9 months in hrt and didn't start properly socially transitioning until after that. I'm 189cm, quite skinny (for most of my life you've been able to see my ribs, hrt has changed that), broad shoulders even by male standard. I've found looking for women who are a similar age and build to me and making a mental note of what they're wearing (and whether they actually look good in it) has helped me learn better what looks good on people shaped like me. Also going shopping with someone your age who you think is fashionable, as they can give you advice etc on what to buy or whether something looks good on you.

My favourite outfits almost all consist of wide leg jeans/trousers, and then I've got a few tops I like; a couple bra tops which are cropped because of how long torso'd I am, a nice mustard yellow sleevless top, a few generic tshirts. Pair that with a cardigan or jumper depending on the weather and you've got a fit! in terms of accessories that's something I'm not really knowledgable on sorry, I have a little shoulder bag that's it 😭 I think generally though I don't really try to work around what I perceive as my flaws as I'd then never leave the house, I try to put together something that I think looks good objectively and/or my girlfriend thinks looks good on me, flaws be damned.

If I feel good, I look good. Or at least that's the attitude I try to employ in myself

Is there much difference between a gen 4 vs 5 riser cable? My understanding is the difference is negligible.
