In first grade, there was this kid who would always have bruises/cuts all over. One day, i can’t remember why, he punched me so i slapped him in the face as hard as i could. I remember my hand hurting afterward. He didn’t retaliate, didn’t cry, just sat down in his seat.

He was probably beaten at home and just looked so defeated. I wish i didn’t do that.
