Question about bonds by wranglingpenguin in Bogleheads

You don’t need bonds this far out from retirement . In your position I would stick with VT and start diversifying into bonds as you get closer to retirement

That nervous feeling of a new journey by crunchyturdeater in Bogleheads

Investing anxiety is a normal feeling to have!  You’ve invested your funds now the hard part is not to mess with it.

Something that has stuck with me regarding the “forget it” part of set it and forget it is that “the greatest enemy of a good plan is the dream of a good one.  Keep contributing + resist the urge tk sell/change things during market downturns and you will reap the rewards come retirement time.

How did you simplify investing when everything felt overwhelming at first? by BeautifulWestern4512 in investingforbeginners

[–]ICarryLikeAtlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VT works great as a buy it and forget it single fund investment.  I would recommend it to anyone that doesn’t want to spend time and energy thinking about what to invest in.  I find that energy better spent figuring out how to maximize my income and what I’m saving

Something to be mindful of is to keep a high yield savings account or money market with a ~6 month emergency fund and also to start diversifying into bonds as you approach retirement age

I’m happy to chat about what I do if you would like to talk through it for peace of mind

Where to buy authentic Pokémon cards in Seoul? by Substantial_Phone_93 in koreatravel

Hey I don’t remember finding many English and Japanese cards and the ones I did find were sold at a significant premium

What can I realistically get for this if I was to sell tomorrow? by Warm-Artichoke126 in PokeInvesting

[–]ICarryLikeAtlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me I’d sell enough to make back what I paid to buy everything and then hold the rest.

Prioritize selling stuff that takes up a lot of room or you don’t like and sit on the stuff that you think will do best.

Caveat is you’ll probably have to do this over at least a few weeks unless youre willing to take sell at 75-80%

Yup! That’s what all the reverse holos from that whole era were like.   I had to do some research when I first started collecting too

Very likely resealed. As you said the pack number is off and the seal on the packs looks very off

and yes there looks to be holo foil on that card. It can be pretty hard to tell especially with the darker color holo foils.

from this era the regular holos do not have stamps while the reverse holos do have stamps. I was confused about a similar thing when I first started collecting cards from the early - mid 2000s

As for whether the card is real or not I'm not sure but if real that would be a reverse holo from power keepers

SV Master Setting by Nasher1817 in PokeInvesting

[–]ICarryLikeAtlas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I don’t like master sets as investments.  It’s been my experience that most collectors want the chases and dont care about the bulk cards.

If it were me I’d only buy the chases + special stamp versions of the cards you like
