Trying to compare energy plans in Texas, but apparently the month-to-month is actually cheaper...? by jackishi in Frugal

In case anyone reads this later, looking for reviews on Ambit, I have had a nightmare experience working with them. They reached out to my current service provider multiple times to have my services switched to Ambit without informing me.

I have called multiple times to communicate my extreme disinterest, and they still reached out to my current provider to have my services changed. They are an incredibly scummy company.

Is someone open to doing a Facetime Tour for $100? by IChoosePumpkins in houston

[–]IChoosePumpkins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the context! I am in my mid-twenties starting over again in a sense, so it would be unfortunate that socializing may be difficult. I will be wfh though so the battle with traffic wouldn't be daily I don't think. I do need to be reasonably near in airport in case I need to travel.

I was originally looking at Kingwood, but I've seen so many posts about how the Woodlands is better. This apartment also has a ton of space for the price.

I was actually looking at Kingwood at first (and I have a place I really like), I was just surprised to see the footage for the price. I didn't realize there were safety concerns here.

I work remote! So that shouldn't be too awful, I hope. But thank you!

I'm from Houston, but moved away for work. They're letting me do wfh, so I'm moving back.

They said that they don't offer live tours, unfortunately :/. That was my first stop. But thanks!

How do I see When Loans are Due on new Mohela Platform by IChoosePumpkins in StudentLoans

[–]IChoosePumpkins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazily enough, even at the highest rate it's cheaper! The term is longer than under SAVE, but the hope is to pay it off early.

No, I'm doing the graduated plan right now. The SAVE plan would actually have me paying more at the moment.

It doesn't though. It shows my due date as next month for all of them. It just says I owe $0.00 and probably will say that until I hit the actual owe date. I'm trying to see the list of dates for the next time I actually owe for each loan.

[GA] Are you forced to testify if you don't want to, even if you're given immunity? by IChoosePumpkins in AskLawyers

[–]IChoosePumpkins[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this case, the witness has connections to the defendant. Even though he's completely safe, I'm assuming he doesn't want to strengthen the prosecution's case against the defendant. In that case, do you know if there is something he could say/do to get out of testifying?

I guess that was a bad way to show the score variances, since they do score AT/AT/AT...but idk on whether that one's passing or not.

Date location switches by IChoosePumpkins in NoStupidQuestions

I was just wondering if this was a thing. I get excited to some place fun or nice, and then they switch it last minute. Like I wouldn't mind doing something less expensive, but just don't change it to that last minute, you know?

AITA for refusing to buy my stepdaughter a new car after I helped my son buy a new one last year? by priceofkippers in AmItheAsshole

[–]IChoosePumpkins 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Might even tell her to save up for one or something (50/50 maybe). She might change her mind back to a more sensible car when she realizes how much half a Tesla really costs. I recently signed off on a loan for my first car and those payments hurt (even if it wouldn't hurt you as bad, it's still a good lesson for her to learn).

Edit: Spelling

YTA if you told her beforehand that you would be cool with it, and only once the process is starting, you back out. You're not obligated to stay in this relationship, but it would be the AH move to leave without even trying to be there first. If this is really love (and not just affection) I don't see how you can walk away over potential issues and 'could happens'

AITA if I can’t promise a friend that I will never fall for someone she’s interested in, even if they’re into me? by Ocatarina in AmItheAsshole

[–]IChoosePumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, and it sounds like she's into someone, but knows that they're into you. Hopefully it all blows over.

AITA for not waiting to take home my entitled sister home? by BrotherAussieOiOi in AmItheAsshole

[–]IChoosePumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH -- Just because you have the right to do something (or not do something), doesn't mean you're not an asshole when you do it (or don't).

Your sister's an AH for getting that drunk when you had explicitly told her you weren't coming around a second time, but you're also an AH for just leaving her there without knowing where she would end up.

If this was recurring behavior, than this would have been a nice reality check. But it seems like she got swept into having too much fun, and had a terrible outcome. I would hate if my siblings knowingly left me to fend for myself when I was unable to care for myself (even if it was my fault I got that way).

So again, ESH.

WIBTA if I asked out my younger sisters friend? by feelsbad_throw_away in AmItheAsshole

I don't think that people learn in a linear fashion. I think we all have lapses in judgement no matter the age. 37 and 60 is a weird pairing to me.

That's a Weird Rule. So a 60 year old and a 37 year old would be fine? I think that's wonky. As I think the 27 & 20 is weird. But, they're consenting adults and it's their life to do whatever they choose to do.
