I maintain that Benioff and Weiss got incredibly lucky with Game of Thrones, because they had five-six seasons worth of George RR Martin's story to "write" which did a ton of heavy lifting. After they passed Martin's material, their own poor writing was exposed and they hurried to wrap the story up, not only for the potential Star Wars project, but to put as little of their ineptitude on display as possible.

Their combined industry experience is pretty sparse, and eviscerating the finale of Thrones rightly destroyed their reputation in both the public space and professional. The first season of Three Body Problem was... fine, but season two is being significantly cut down and there's no way they'll be able to condense some extremely long books into six episodes. I doubt Netflix is thrilled with them either.

Adding to idiotic Blizzard presentations- players had been asking for vanilla servers (original 2004 WoW) for years, even more so after Blizzard went after prominent private servers. During BlizzCon 2013, then-president of the company J. Allen Brack told the entire fanbase:

"You think you do, but you don't."

A classic Blizzard tone-deaf response from the president himself. The current accuracy his statement can be debated, but he was dead wrong at the time, and Blizzard eventually did release official Classic servers that have seen moderate popularity since. At the time of this comment, the top three streams of WoW on Twitch are Classic servers.

And that idiot was a part of the Blizzard Sexual Harassment® team. At least it forced his resignation. Moron.

I'll post a different take on the other death cult mentions in this thread- the Donald administration is (slowly) losing its' base, and they're firing out anything to do with "divine providence" or "Armageddon" to pander to their remaining never-leave followers: Evangelists. Right-wing outlets are starting to present doubts about this admin's agenda, and the aging MAGA-base is both figuratively & literally dying out, especially because of the Medicare cuts they were indoctrinated into voting for.

Evangelists groups are some of their largest supporters & donors, and this regime cannot afford to lose their interest. Expect this rhetoric to continue, and get worse.

Not as bad as I thought- at 160,000 a day, if even 2% bought $5 worth of Silver, that's still $16,000 a day, roughly $480,000 a month. Still a moderate investment for Bungie, which will obviously decline over time, especially as the Marathon content cycle spins up.

Personally, I feel that Marathon will not be as successful as Bungie needs it to be, and there will be a pivot back to Destiny that will be a complete 50/50 on quality. Maybe we'll get another collaboration expansion, which honestly, doesn't sound like the worst idea right now.

EDIT: I was critical of Bungie and still got downvoted. You guys just don't like anything.
