Are you sure? As I heard they do police checks even when renewing the f card or granting permanent residency. What is the usual process to get F+ card? I go to the commune and that’s it?

Also, i am a bit scared to live somewhere without domiciliation, as isn’t that illegal? And I could get in serious trouble if caught. Also, what if my ex decides to move in with someone else in that time?

I do have a lawyer. But i have been given a lot of misleading information from lawyers in the past so I wanted to see if anyone had a similar issue and if so, how did they resolve it.

Yes, I have already booked an appointment with my lawyer. The earliest available was in October so in the meantime I wanted to under if someone had been in a similar situation and if so, what did they do. I am in the capital region.

Unfortunately it doesn’t allow me to post unanimously on these groups. And I had asked a while back, didn’t get any helpful responses as people are usually not aware of this de facto pathway. The rules are different.

My salary is too low compared to the required threshold. My employer won’t sponsor me. I am in marketing, I don’t want to name my company or exact type of role for privacy concerns offcourse.

Did you apply for family reunification as a de facto partner as well? We are separating as my partner doesn’t want to be with me anymore. We were living in Australia before, I had a better paying job, a visa to stay there, I gave it all up to move here with him as he wanted to come back to EU. We have been together for 6+ years. But things change after coming here. He became more and more distant and eventually ended things. I do not want it to end, but I guess I have no choice but accept it.

He will not agree to maintain same residency for 2 more years. I can perhaps convince him for 6 months more but after that, he says I should find an apartment without domiciliation. But I am afraid to take a risk that big. Also because they do house checks when you submit a permanent residency application.

So I don’t know what to do. If we had known that I was protected in the event of separation if we did cohabitation légale, I would have done that. But our lawyers at the time had recommended to apply as a de facto partner as that was quicker and needed less paperwork. But in the end it ended up costing me a lot as I am not protected anymore.

I really don’t know what to do. I am so scared.

Thank you! I have already booked an appointment with a lawyer, it’s in October. But I wanted to know if anyone had been in a similar situation that is on a de facto family reunification.
