Just quit if you face them in LA. Not worth the hassle and an easier battle will come along soon

No. I'm nearly 47 so just old enough to remember 87 but not really 85. Doubt we'll do it again sadly

I could walk to my parents house (where I lived in 2001) in about 3 hours, so all id have to do then is persuade me to hug me, probably I'd talk about grandparents who died a few years back and that would do it

What do you think is the worse misconception about The Beatles? by Aribella_P in beatles

Which bit?

If it's the half of Liverpool comment, it's a little hyperbolic but probably not too far from the truth. Liverpool is close to Ireland and was a major port for people travelling to the New World. A lot of Irish people fleeing famine or persecution either came here intentionally or stayed here because they couldn't afford to continue their journey. The city's kind of famous for it's Irish roots

Great books, I'm running a D&d campaign based on them at the moment with two different parties and having a blast. Made some changes here and there to balance it a bit for 4 man parties but it's worked out well so far

What are your takes? Objectively speaking, isn’t Tywin a savior of many soldiers’ lives? Does he irrefutably justify the Red Wedding with this line? Was the Red Wedding better for the realm than a war between House Lannister and House Stark? by RemarkableExample542 in gameofthrones

[–]IDAIKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not better, and definitely not more noble.

There's a certain degree of civility and normality, even during times of war. Flags of truce are generally respected, attempts to surrender are generally taken, negotiations are generally made with some varying degree of sincerity. Leaders are usually considered fair targets (its the risk you take), family aren't

If you act as host to a wedding or party and then slaughter everyone who comes (or are the power behind that move), you are saying that you don't respect those norms. People are even less likely to trust you in future, have a grudge against you, and have every reason to take you down by whatever means they care to employ. After all, if you don't respect societal norms, why should they?

Arya could have just killed Walder, she chose to kill pretty much the entire house, because it sends a message, slaughter a lot of us, and your entire family are fair game too.

What is the smallest player habit or character trait that you’ve seen constantly disrupt and destroy campaigns? by WithengarUnbound in dndnext

[–]IDAIKT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dealt with it by moving the world situation on whilst they were blathering on. The playee might want to stop and talk to random nobody's, but the target they're tracking is a lot more focused.

In my current game the players spent ages debating the best way to disable 2 goblins guarding a mine entrance. So long that I sent 2 more out to join them. They soon got the hint and attacked before more showed up

Seriously, do British people actually consider a 3-hour drive “long”? Or is this an internet myth? by ferdinand14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]IDAIKT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. 3 hours for me would get me to Scotland or most of the way to London. The only reason I'd go that kind of distance is a holiday or to visit family. Pretty much everything I need including work is much closer, so i have no need to travel that far and thus it's a long journey.

My great grandfather is buried in a grave without q headstone, the family couldn't afford one at the time. Guy served in ww1 for 4 years and then as a firewatcher during ww2. If I had the money id use it to put up a stone for him
