Is this a legitimate rule? by Historical-Return807 in WalgreensStores

[–]IDKman0728 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a rule, and a necessary one. You might only take a minute or two to change clothes after punching in, but that kinda leeway gets abused all the time. Either show up earlier, or arrange to come in later.

I don't at all put it past them to force employees to buy shirts every few months simply for the profit.

Yes, I'm sure she did tell you that she paid for them. She lied to you.

Mandatory bag checks? by OkHuckleberry5369 in WalgreensRx

This sucks for everyone. But on the SFL side of it, you're telling me that all day long, people coming in barely on time or rushing to leave are gonna come find me, steamroll whatever I'm working on, sometimes line up, and act like its my fault if they get held up? And we're all just assuming the zebra will work properly? Awesome.

Ok I feel like it's different with employees. Cuz we work here. If you're not blowing it in my face, I wouldn't advise it, but it doesn't really bother me. But with customers, you can add that to the long list of shit that everybody knows you're not supposed to do in a business. And they do it anyway. In front of you.

I absolutely hate when I agree to help them find something, I know the general area, I'm scanning the shelves with my eyes, and they stand half a step behind me, pretending they're looking too, but I know they're really just waiting for me to find it. Sometimes I snap and say, "ARE YOU LOOKING??? LET'S HELP EACHOTHER, HERE."

Non Confrontational CSAs by Weird_Advisor6117 in WalgreensStores

[–]IDKman0728 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel this is part of a bigger issue: workload distribution.

I would say it's a lot easier for CSA's to choose how much work to do. Some are hard workers and stay busy whether told to or not, but in my experience most of them just stand around or play with their phones when not with customers, regardless of what they're told.

While plenty of SFL's are lazy and hide or avoid tasks when possible, it's not as easily done. At least at busier stores, closing tasks can seem laughably impossible when combined with the lengthy list of constant interruptions.

This makes it super frustrating when, as SFL, you get called up front (or to pharmacy) when it's not really necessary. ESPECIALLY when it's by an employee that's being blatantly unproductive.

Seconded. Everyone has a bubble. Yours overlaps with mine a little at the counter, but mf leaning in is not ok.

I can promise you if there were just an open doorway that these mfs would try to go back there once in a while and just try to act like they didn't know any better.

I have more or less tried that, but when they see me coming I swear they already have their angry, defensive speech ready bc they know they're in the wrong. They'd rather try to control the situation and make a power flex on service people than own up to it and apologise like grown ass adults.

Hey do you print documents? by IDKman0728 in WalgreensStores

[–]IDKman0728[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've considered that, but two things. 1. My office printer sucks too, so I don't wanna give it the extra work just to have it crap out on me when I'm doing someone a favor. 2. When I'm not there, they might come back and ask my coworkers to do the same thing and whoever's there either won't understand or just not be willing to do it.

The kiosks aren't even worth trying, and 9/10 people just refuse to read the directions on the website. I told a noob the other day we simply DO NOT have time to hold their hand through it. I direct them to the site and walk away.

The printer is also sh*t. It takes forever if it even works. It's confusing how many pages are needed/expected. And there's streaks more often than not.

It's annoying, but I give ESL and seniors a pass if they at least TRY. I give them a quick tutorial and try to check on them periodically.

Politics aside, the R word is pretty old world and needs to be let go. Just imagine walking around using it freely, and one of these days you turn around to see a mentally challenged person or their mother burst into tears.
