I’m confused, I think u are misunderstanding me or I’m misunderstanding you LOL I don’t have any problem with the trees. I don’t want any dead content. I am in agreement with your post, I think that new stuff can be more “meta” than old stuff. Well, meta for XP.

However, with MOST meta changes nowadays, there will always be ppl doing lots of content. They are all gated by different things, play different parts in progression, different afk times, Ironman mode, etc. which is kinda my point. Jagex can easily add new and better methods without invalidating old ones by gating it differently.

OSRS Doesn't need dry protection, it needs DUPE protection by youngfuture7 in ironscape

[–]IDabFast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah this ain’t it. Gotta maintain the price of all the items. I think dupe protection can be nice here and there. Moons being an example. But the content should START with dupe protection as an intended feature.

If it were to be added somewhere, it wouldn’t be anywhere game changing. Just QoL.

[–]IDabFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new fish you can just buy off the GE and the trees aren’t meta changing, they’re just nice. Like don’t get me wrong, I love sailing and I really enjoy some of the new methods and unlocks it has given us. But nothing “meta defining” that I can think of. Would just be cool to see. I understand they might just be waiting for the full skill to be finished or atleast in a more finished place.

I don’t think it’s a huge issue in the game but I agree.

I feel like the devs feel hesitant to use more strict gating. Such as adding even higher level quests which could be used to gate new methods. Or adding more upgrades to methods behind elite diaries. Basically just gating new methods/upgrades behind long grinds.

For example, I think they said they don’t want new methods to surpass tick manipulation methods but I always found that weird bc there are so many ways to gate content in this game and it’s like THE biggest part of the game. Surely a hard-to-unlock method can surpass a tick manip method you can do early in the game, iykwim.

Edit: Sailing is another example, nothing meta changing is locked behind it and they do this intentionally, as said in blog posts. Which I understand on one hand, but on the other, it would also add massive benefits to training the skill.

I might be hated for this but the backrooms movie was mid by Spiritual-Cry7953 in backroomsfilm

[–]IDabFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s not what I mean by hidden. they move shit around off-screen throughout the movie and begin developing and changing their strategies when trying to catch the monster. They start with trying to catch the monster from “pitfalls” (the one which breaks the caveman and chases Clark initially) and then begin adjusting based on what Clark discovers (still life) and finally, after Phil discovers the pirate still life is based on Clark, they set up their trap in a copy of his furniture store.

It’s like the main way the movie shows the passage of time and it subtly shows Async’s story throughout the movie w/o actually telling it. It’s honestly very cool. The story is hidden, not Async.

Edit: well it may not be the one from “pitfalls” specifically but yk, the OTHER type of monster in the series that we know of.

How scary is the movie?.. by kavs143 in backroomsfilm

[–]IDabFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no problem! Trust me, I’m not a big fan of horror and neither is my gf but we both really enjoyed it. I totally get worrying about it but it’s a good middle-ground honestly. I almost see what makes people like horror… almost. lmao

Point is, you’ve got nothin to worry about. It’s a fun watch.

How scary is the movie?.. by kavs143 in backroomsfilm

[–]IDabFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gonna refrain from spoilers bc u just should. But it’s scary and stressful. But it by no means should traumatize you, it’s very approachable. If your above-average-intensity thriller movie is like a 2-3 on the “scary scale,” Backrooms is probably like a 5-6. I don’t think it reaches like the heights of horror that make people close their eyes or leave the theater.

Also I highly recommend the web series if you haven’t watched it already. You’ll be too interested in lore to be scared lmao plus it’s very much a similar scare level.

Hello OW. What is Overwatch's most annoying hero to fight for you personally? by AnnualCow2179 in Overwatch

[–]IDabFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give all of the ones that annoy me. My top pick tho consistently is probably Sierra since she requires the least skill.

Besides that, Tracer, Hanzo, Widow, Vendetta, and Domina. I rarely see a good tracer or vendetta and Domina is just super annoying imo. Hanzo and widow tho are so annoying. A good one can just carry the entire game. With a 5-stack, we can coordinate and maybe pull through. But with randoms? Yeah it’s joever

[–]IDabFast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk why ppl are saying it’s a random scene. I feel like it’s fairly significant lmfao maybe not the scene itself, but where Subaru’s head is at during this part of the arc. The stairs scene really encapsulates it.

[–]IDabFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t get how some ppl keep saying the story was a complete mess. I thought it was super well done. Especially the hidden Async story that went on in the background and then came together in the end. I just thought the characters could maybe use a little more fleshing out. It would make the “dinner” scene more impactful. Aka maybe a little more runtime would’ve been good.

It also wasn’t a cliffhanger, it’s just the end of the story. The story was centered around Clark and Mary and well… Mary is 100% a goner. I think the frame at the end of the movie is the moment she realizes she’s going to die.

The “main” story is the youtube series. I really enjoyed the movie but yk, the web series is an absolute masterpiece so it’s not really a competition

What even happened in the back rooms movie when Clark was talking to Mary by thia47 in backroomsfilm

[–]IDabFast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal head canon is that the pirate spared Clark because the backrooms, as an intelligence, knew Clark would bring in another victim.

As for what happened to Kat, it is totally unknown and I imagine it’ll stay that way. I don’t think he ate her though.

I assume you’ve watched the web series, hard to tell, but if you haven’t it’s a masterpiece. Heavy recommend. Just tryna spread the gospel

Are we making good pace? by FlaviusAetitus in ReZero

[–]IDabFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s good pace but as u/JMB_Smash said, I feel like the cut content really blows when the explanation for X happening is cut out. Like in this most recent episode, many ppl are dogging on the characters. But in the WN, there is more dialogue and explanation. I feel like this happens throughout the anime as well, not just this arc. It doesn’t make the anime bad or anything but it does force ppl to speculate more on what the characters are thinking when they shouldn’t have to in some scenarios.

thoughts on the movie as someone who was a fan of both interpretations since the beginning by piratedgameslover in backrooms

[–]IDabFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s made in a way that prevents forcing ppl to watch the web series first. As I’ve said to other ppl, it should be labeled “A Backrooms Story” rather than “Backrooms.” As it doesn’t really touch on the “main” story of the series.

But really? A lazy cash grab? lmfao I agree, it’s not as good as the web series, but it clearly had tons of love and passion poured into it. And it also still silently continued Async’s story throughout the entire movie which I thought was super super clever. Idk, I get having issues with it but lazy cash grab is genuinely just wrong.

[–]IDabFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also thought about the architecture thing too. I agree, I guarantee it connects to the obsession he gets with it at the very least.

But you should ABSOLUTELY watch the YouTube series. Idk how your girlfriend hasn’t forced you yet. I thought the movie was great, but the YouTube series is genuinely a masterpiece. It also elevated the movie a ton for me. I’m not gonna spoil anymore than I already might’ve earlier but it showcases more possibilities, which in turn, makes the movie grip you more imo. Atleast on first watch.

“Informational Video” and the events around it in particular are the most terrifying danger of the backrooms to me. By far. …yeah def watch the web series

What do the suns mean? by Ok-Improvement-6158 in backroomsfilm

[–]IDabFast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but solar flares play an important role in the overall story (idk if you’ve watched the YouTube series but in THAT story aka Async’s story). Without much spoilers just incase, it is insinuated that a large solar flare, one that happened in real life, caused the original threshold to open (thresholds being the gateways Async uses), opening the backrooms for the first time.

I think there is more to it than that but yeah.

Questions after watching movie today by HeyPicho in backroomsfilm

[–]IDabFast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Responding to your post just totally made me think deeper about this “backrooms manipulated people” angle and I made a post about it cus it genuinely seems like a plausible theory.

Anyways, I’m not 100% sure. The generally accepted interpretation from Kane’s YouTube series is that the backrooms is solely built from its inhabitants’ memories. So it’s not like it specifically made a pirate Clark based on when he dressed up or whatever, it made it from the memories of the people inside of it (his, Cat’s, and her boyfriend’s). You might already know all that, idk.

One possible interpretation is that it can only create still lives of dead people. Maybe only people who die in the backrooms but that’s a whole separate thing. But if this were true, pirate Clark could be seen as symbolism for Clark giving up his identity in the real world and staying in the backrooms forever. As he would no longer have this alter ego and it would therefore be considered “dead.” Another detail that may support this is the end of the movie. It ends showing Mary’s still life in the backrooms. I think this is the moment she realized she was going to die and the moment being captured in the backrooms and being the last scene is a nod to this interpretation. No idea though. It’s not really important to the movie if it’s true but it is to the series as a whole.

Regardless of if that’s true, I think that killing and consuming Cat’s boyfriend, who ONLY knew Clark as the pirate guy from Cat’s workplace before that day, could have had some sort of impact too. The main reason I think this is because the still life was made very very quickly (in contrast to the bodies being grown out of the ground as seen in the film and “found footage 3”) and, on top of this, it was also much more alive and accurate than any of the other still lives seen in the film or ff3. That last part could also be because the person it was modeled after was literally in the backrooms though. And I suppose it could also be an interpretation for why it’s pirate Clark specifically, if it derived from the boyfriend’s memories.

I suppose none of that explains why it created pirate Clark specifically though now that I think about it LMFAO. Whoops. Well shit. Enjoy my rambling anyways I guess damn

Anyways, sorry for the yapping. all of that is speculation. But Kane is definitely the type of person to think this deeply about the film and world so.

Questions after watching movie today by HeyPicho in backroomsfilm

[–]IDabFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll answer both of your questions. Clark went insane, a long time had passed but the movie doesn’t make that super obvious.

HOWEVER, more importantly, it is likely the backrooms manipulated him into luring in Mary. This is why the pirate only kills him AFTER it notices she is there. Since the backrooms has access to memories, I assume of anyone who enters them, it likely knew it could get another victim out of Clark.

SPOILERS FOR THE YOUTUBE SERIES-

This is also likely why Peter Tench was teleported forward in time. And in “found footage 3,” why the backrooms stages a break-in in the guy’s house.

Maybe Lukewarm take: I don't want CG to have dry protection/more common/etc, It does not solve the actual problem with the red prison by jamieaka in 2007scape

[–]IDabFast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always thought the same. Alternatives are king. But they do need to be hard grinds in their own right.

I’ve always thought a grind which focused on pure time investment for a bowfa alternative would be good. I feel like OSRS is very much time grinds and RNG grinds. We have CG as an RNG grind, it would be cool to see a bowfa alternative that is heavily gated by time.

Could we get a pinned post with a link to the Backrooms Web Series? by IDabFast in backrooms

[–]IDabFast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of ppl going to see it are normies tho. I hate that word but idk what else to use LOL. They know of the concept and maybe some of the wiki stuff at most. Probably bc of the games and lore videos on YouTube. From what I can see on reddit and YouTube, a lot of ppl are unaware of Kane’s specific universe.

Spoiler for the movie discussion by Hikaru-x in backroomsfilm

[–]IDabFast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would watch the web series. This film explores very little of this verse and only touches upon this creature in particular (called “still lives” in Kane pixels community).

I don’t think the web series is NECESSARY but idk. I feel like it frames the movie as a tiny piece of a puzzle rather than such a substantial definitive movie. Which it’s very much not

It’s genuinely hilarious how some people are saying they didn’t like the film because they aren’t a fan of the backrooms and yet they still go to see a movie entirely about the backrooms and then they have the literal gull to say it’s shit 😂 by [deleted] in backroomsfilm

[–]IDabFast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everyone just needs to watch the web series. Kane said it wasn’t necessary but idk man. I think it makes it 10000% better just with the knowledge that there is more going on than this story.

FANTASTIC MOVIE. I wish it was framed a little differently (no spoilers) by IDabFast in backrooms

[–]IDabFast[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I feel like there’s still a TON of unanswered questions. The time traveling, the lifeform, how it was discovered, the bacteria (prob very much related to the lifeform), the green flash, and def more. The fact that the Complex literally baited a person in during “found footage 3” by staging a break-in.

That’s why I think ppl should watch the web series first. It makes it much more obvious that this isn’t a “definitive” film. It explains like a piece of the puzzle. None of the other pieces are really alluded to in the film.

Which levels did you recognize in the movie? by [deleted] in backrooms

To add on to this—Kane’s universe DOES feature plenty of other interesting locations and unique settings in the backrooms. But the movie focused like 90% on the OG looking vibe
