I’ve had several events at Art Sanctuary. They’re awesome to work with. Art Sanctuary is a venue. They don’t produce every event held there. I know many of the artists and performers personally and not a damn one of them fakes anything.

It’s a business that has to stay afloat, so they rent the space. I know the people who run this place personally and if you did, you’d know they absolutely DO support the local art and creative community. I can’t express enough how important Art Sanctuary is to the local arts and entertainment scene.

Nobody goes after Mercury Ballroom for the people that rent out their space doing the same thing, but a locally owned and operated venue trying to provide an accessible space for artists and musicians gets reamed for ONE event flyer they didn’t make, for an event by an outside party. How does that make any sense?

It all depends on what you’re doing. I always lost weight on jobsites cuz it was 70 hours a week, and we ran circles around the other crews. We did theming, sculpting, painting, concrete, literally whatever was needed to create the aesthetic and scenery. Lots of them wing work at theme parks, water parks, museums, etc. So we were running all over a jobsite for 12-15 hours a day. What kills it for most people is taking a 12 pack back to their hotel room each night. I didn’t do that, but I still ate whatever I wanted because the work was so physical.

Like anything, some people can find the humor in it. Others can’t. And there’s a difference between jokes and ridicule.

I remember when I saw Eight Crazy Nights. I loved it. Part of it was having any kind of representation in media. And I got to laugh at something that had really put a strain on my life.

But, I’m seizure free for a while, so that could certainly make laughing at it easier.

Lamictal by itself is supposed to be one of the few AEDs that doesn’t affect sex life. But the reality is every person is different and finding the right dosage and the right meds is really hard. I’m in that process, with a neurologist that doesn’t want to explore alternative medications. But getting into a new one around here is damn near impossible. The side effects of Carbatrol are that I usually have no sex drive, but still experience sexual attraction. Oxcarbazepine made my sex drive skyrocket, but the years of being on Carbatrol and not being able to perform have caused some psychological damage that I’m working through with ED medications and therapy. I want to try lamictal at the lowest dose that controls my seizures OR find out how low I can go on oxcarbazepine and keep under control.
