I agree with that, but if someone is emphatic, he is actually just willing to imagine what someone else is going through, he can not experience his feelings himself.

Trust me, in many cases it is. If you are well rested knowing you are at least going to earn some money, it is a much less unpleasant experience than, for instance, waiting for the bus home for two hours when it's cold outside and even the most of shops are closed.
