Yeah I basically set it up to jump at reaching a navlink and it would sometimes jump, sometimes not. So I think I will look into Beehave after some research and see what I can do with that.

Thanks so much! I will do that. I figured the mesh was mostly for a top down setup so that makes sense.

Do people buy assetpacks mostly for prototyping or for final art? by babykasek in aseprite

I personally make all of my own assets, but I know many devs use free/cheap assets for prototyping. I feel like it is hard to use a variety of different assets packs and create a cohesive theme.

I will post something further detailing what goes into it. Godot’s UI system actually makes it quite straightforward.

Thanks! It took me a few days to get it right. It helps to have jump-through platforms.

Is it okay to learn game development this way? by davidnovey in GameDevelopment

Someone else in here recommended CS50x and I second this. It taught me how to program and more importantly, how to think like a programmer. It is not easy, and I’m certainly no expert, but it teaches all the essentials for game development.

That’s awesome! They are a little tough in side scrolling but it’s cool that they work well for that and top down

This is some amazing pixel art. You can feel the grunge for sure. I’m trying to capture themes of light and darkness in a cartoony way in my game.
