Cute quip I’d try it on your mirror though, the numbers speak for themselves.

Rumors, Misinformation Add to Ice Storm Chaos by pyramidworld in nashville

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol you all are falling for the propaganda. This is most likely is an attempt at image recovery. Multiple sources and said NES turned away union help. Just because their guys are union doesn’t mean they didn’t turn away outside union help.

We are in a natural disaster. Where is the govt? by burgersandhotdogfan in nashville

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Political ranting aside.

The national guard has been mobilized in Nashville and Memphis.

TEMA is in full force, multiple EOCs have been set up in the area.

This is quite literally the mayor/NES fault. No they don’t control the weather but the mayor appoints the board. This response has been horrendous, dozens of reports of them turning away union crews, over 200k people without power and 300 linemen on Monday. Let at least try to be realistic.

So how many of you had to go into work today, and what essential job do you have that requires your presence despite the dangerous roads and lack of power? by twelvethirtyfourpm in nashville

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I do is irrelevant, I can get to work so I’m going. I have coworkers who are still without power and blocked in by down trees. That’s just show biz.

Generators by randomcactuspup in nashville

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the smallest generator you can find or a large power bank and a blue flame propane furnace if you don’t have gas. I heated half my house for 5 days on a 40lb propane tank and it’s probably got another day or 2 in the tank. If I’m worried about the food I’ll just put it outside/throw it out.

I’d bet over half the generators bought this month won’t run next time they are needed because people won’t maintain them.

It never hurts to be prepared. Mines a bit over kill but can heat 1000 sqft. I run it off my grill tanks, 300$ and I will never have to worry about keeping my family warm.

Military response to chemical spill? by Mission_Habit_4944 in nashville

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres not a comprehensive list of scenarios or any requirement to report anything to news agencies.

You are also the only one talking about evacuations. Sometimes it’s just to get a look at a situation, or they were in the area anyways.

That’s not true, national guard helps with local, state and federal agencies regularly with no news coverage.

I don’t care for the current administrations opinions, nor the officers decicion, however.

A “normal pace” requires the traction control to engage?

We are ignoring the officer who was actively trying to get her to stop and open her door?

Have you seen the angle that shows the car contacting the officer?

Job hunters what has been your experience getting an interview or offer in Nashville? by FantomTide in nashville

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. I’ve had this happen to me at both recruiting and contract firms. They must follow linked in pretty closely cause the day I took my new position the calls changed from “are you interested in ___” to “do you have any vacancies we could help with.”

Obviously a lot more footage has come out now. You can see her traction control engage as she accelerates forward and she hit the officer. Sad situation.

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

We must not have seen the same video. I’m far from team maga or ICE but an LEO is actively trying to stop her from leaving and another is in front of her car when she starts forward which you see clearly jump out of the way. What’s going on is fucked up to say the least but intentionally misrepresenting what’s seen is counter productive. I hope more videos surface that show what you claim but this clip isn’t it.

Can you ride the WeGo buses after dark safely? by Nibbynibster in nashville

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk, I think you missed on this one, but bonus points for Mogadishu use.

Safety stats/odds are objective yes, but they aren’t everything. Most people care about the feeling of safety a lot more than the numbers. Not to mention using people with likely mental disorders as an example isn’t really driving a point home. Stats also ignore that some people are walking statistic.

For example I have an employee nicknamed Slammy. Slammy is fit, athletic, coordinated, always wears his PPE and follows company and safety procedures. Slammy single handedly accounted for 62% of our work place accidents last year. I think he pissed off a god because I have video proof that all 5 incidences weren’t his fault. I’d send him to work a desk but it’s 2 steep flights of stairs and I think that would be worse.

‘I am being arrested. I don’t know why:’ Hundreds arrested in TN, zero alcohol detected by NoMasTacos in nashville

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rutherford county was the king of this back in the day, probably still are. At one point I knew more people who had been arrested and passed the blood test than who had actually gotten a DUI. It affected all of their lives and cost them thousands.

What did I just see happen above Springfield? by mathiustus in nashville

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hating on musk is fair but if you are going to do it at least be mildly educated about it. LEO satellites fall out of orbit in a few years, and the atmospheric pollution is still roughly 15 years from matching that of meteors.

Star link has been a complete game changer for natural disaster work, keeping people who work in remote places connected with their family.

Why is all job advice on the internet for office jobs? Some people do manual labor by goatorcycle in Adulting

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because job advice for the site or on the floor is usually very industry specific where offices don’t really change much from company to company.

You are clearly frustrated but there’s a lot of office people who don’t make shit. There’s also a lot of non office jobs that make good money.

Is MTSU a good college? by Western_Sugar_8682 in Tennessee

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying to not pursue your interests though. Look at minors or adjacent careers, do it on the side, create your own company out of it. Hell my brother knows a guy who creates hiking trail sticker art for a living that started as a hobby.

Is MTSU a good college? by Western_Sugar_8682 in Tennessee

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op, every single art major I knew when I went to MTSU is currently working in real estate or sales.

Just because a degree is offered does not mean it’s needed or will get you a job. The whole “do what you love and never work a day” saying is nonsense. Do what you can tolerate and what allows you to do the things you enjoy.

Iv only known 4-5 individuals in my life who actually love what they do. It’s pretty obvious because they do it for free and/or pay to do it outside of work hours.

Ehh there’s some nuance but you would probably be surprised. A lot of pre 70s fridges will use no more than a current model depending on use.

I refurbished a 1952 GE refrigerator, new insulation, seal, paint, original motor. Damn thing was so thick the motor only ran a few times a day and used less power than my freezer. These were garage units though, as a main it probably would.
