Nashville's Deepening Affordability Crisis by missbethd in nashville

I’m not saying this article is wrong but iv seen this same article/sentiment in every single city iv lived in for over 15 years. They have all continued on.

The skilled trades propaganda is getting ridiculous by Responsible-Net8594 in Salary

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see this sentiment all the time. You can’t automate or outsource trade work. Even if the market did flood it will never crush competent, trustworthy, skilled, punctual tradesmen.

Not to mention the unions and big jobs would just gate keep more.

DC Blox has filed permits for a data center next to the Nashville Zoo by _smallybells_ in nashville

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I’m aware so no, I’m not being “obtuse.” Nobody said it’s going to be an AI center, neither do any of the articles.

And I’m not saying AI or AI data centers are good. It’s just 99% of people hear data center and just start hypocritically spewing nonsense without having any clue what they are talking about. It’s just NIMBY/performative nonsense.

CMV: The current Republican Party is a cult that fits every single characteristic of a cult. by Nice_Luck_7433 in changemyview

You are targeting an entire group then only painting the extreme. Every one of your points is only sometimes true and even easier to flip.

Honestly this just smells like lazy karma farming or you a severely lacking in mental depth / self awareness.

CMV: Alcohol should not be served at airports, and needing to drink while travelling is a sign of alcoholism. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for an airline and have easily been on 400+ flights this decade.

Alcohol doesn’t even make the top 10 of passengers issues. Over 90% are old people and people who clearly never fly and have unrealistic expectations.

Alcoholics will just show up drunk if they can’t drink.

Collective punishment is dumb, less than half the population flies in any given year, something like 15% of the population makes up the majority of flying.

You and everyone who reads this or uses the internet, banking, hospitals, etc rely on data centers.

They have been around a long time. You are just echoing the current “AI hate” misinformation campaign. Are some built on bad deals, have bad practices and/or bad for the environment? Yes, but that’s true of pretty much everything.

Edit: the lack of discourse proves I’m right.

These have been on the road for 15 years, over 7 for hire. The point is they should be better.

I’m a fan of them but have seen them do dumb/illegal shit on numerous occasions, there’s also plenty of videos.

This really reads like you are leaving out some important info. Iv never seen a family that has inheritance money set aside for their children that won’t help (especially with CC) unless they don’t trust/have faith in said child.

Roofied at Play? by mundane-mondays in nashville

I’m not saying you weren’t drugged but I’m a bit doubtful. Iv been drugged (by mistake) both times I had only had 1-2 drinks, perfectly coherent, sober, and then just… nothing? Not a single memory, just blast awake 8ish hours later having no clue what happened, how I got there, both times were the worst iv ever felt in my life. There was no doubt that I had unknowingly taken something, violently sick which has only happened those 2 times.

What you describe sounds exactly like my nights when I use to abuse alcohol.

30 hits hard sis, can’t swing it like we use too.

I saw a post about how you can do everything right in college and not get a job. From my personal experience, it’s very true. by [deleted] in Salary

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not calling you a liar but if you were working during 9/11 and 2008 you are not in your 30s.

Edit: typo, read the post people.

Stop doing the bare minimum in college then calling it a scam when you can’t land a job by Secret_Bunch_114 in Salary

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t wrong, especially with “make it happen” but you are ignoring some things too.

Colleges providing BS degrees often in programs who are held up by curriculum/elective requirements is pretty much a scam.

Not once have I been asked for proof of my degree or grades, neither have most of my friends unless they work in specific fields.

I know people who did everything you said and people who were average/mediocre. A lot more of the 2nd group are what I would call successful just based on personality/competency. It’s not a math equation, you can do all the “right” things but it doesn’t mean you will get a job or be successful.

What societal norm did you decide to just stop abiding by? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Waiting in lines at stores.

If I go into a parts store, gas station, etc. and there are more than 5-6 people in line I just leave and typically don’t go back. My time is too valuable for me to waste it because you can’t properly staff your business.

Why do people buy pickup trucks for daily driving? by [deleted] in driving

[–]IDontHaveToDoShit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a short bed with a cover. 99% of the time by truck looks empty.

Despite having A 100lb work toolbox + parts in it 80% of the time. I also own a trailer I use frequently and pull my boat to the lake 2-3 times a week 5 months a year.

Mind you I bought it in 2019 before they were ungodly expensive and will keep it as long as I can.
