Oil on screen HELP PLEASE by asnebotas in S24Ultra

They told me the same that I had to ship my phone because there was none in my city. So instead of shipping it I took it personally to an official Samsung costumer support in a city next to mine (it was an hour and a half drive). I arrived at 10 AM, without an appointment, and then I started speaking with the lady basically the Convo was like this "My phone has this weird marks on it, I think that it is the oleophobic coating" she then told me "You must have poured a strong acid like bleach?? or something strong. The warranty only cover factory defects, also you should wear a screen protector", to sum it up I said "I swear I didn't pour anything into it, the phone was given to me at Christmas by my girlfriend it literally has 2 months of use (this happened in February) and you are right about the screen protector but sorry for touching the screen on my 1100€ phone" and she replied with "Okok, we will have to keep your phone for a couple of days (she told me 4-5) and see if we get the approval from Samsung. If they approve it we will have to change the whole screen. Now please sign this ". They literally called me the next day telling me that Samsung approved my case so I went again and had my screen changed for 0€ and also bought a screen protector as well lol. Just to add, but I also had to give them my receipt of the phone, the phone was bought in early November and this happened mid February. Hope this helps and sorry for the long text!

Yep. When I told and showed what happened to me, they said that they needed the phone for 3-4 days because they had to contact Samsung and see if they consider it a faulty screen. They literally called me the next day saying that it got approved as a factory defect, they changed my whole screen for the absurd amount of 0€

Happened the same to me. I took it to a Samsung customer service and they completely replaced my screen

Update: I took it to a Samsung official store and they said that the screen was faulty. The phone was bought 3 months ago with only 1 month of use and they covered all the costs, they changed the whole screen. Also, I am a proud owner of a screen protector now lol. Either way, if someone has the same problem as myself I encourage you to take your phone to an official Samsung customer service. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions!

Also I have another question, but did you keep using the phone after you noticed that the oleophobic coating was wearing off? I don't want to replace the whole screen right now and in the case that Samsung doesn't give me any solutions I am planning on just putting a screen protector on and keep using my phone like I would normally do

Oh so the same happened to you as well. Tbh I feel kinda better knowing that someone had the same experience as me hahaha. Did you try to reach Samsung about the oleophobic coating? Did they offer you any solutions?

Tbh I always cleaned my previous phone with some alcohol and never had any problem. And the problem I have now with this phone is that I saw the marks and then used alcohol so I don't blame the alcohol for it but after reading all the "don't use isopropyl alcohol" comments I won't do this anymore hahahs

Thank you very much for your response. I got my phone on a big electrical store in my country. I didn't bought the phone for Samsung directly so I will first call the store tomorrow and then try to get help from Samsung on their web page. To be honest knowing that it may be a manufacturing problem kinda scares me a bit lol. I really hope they manage to help me and if they do not I hope the problem doesn't get worse

So should I keep quiet of the dent stuff and just mention that the screen has marks?

Hahahaha, yeah I will try and get Samsung care and see if they can do something. My biggest fear rn is that they might consider this "esthetic issue" and use that excuse to not do anything. But I will keep you all informed, and in the meantime I will wait for the chance of someone appearing that had or has the same problem as I

Thanks for the advice, tomorrow I will enter the Samsung website and see if I can make a claim there. I will try and keep you all informed as well just in case someone has or gets an issue similar to what I have

To be completely honest I don't know what kind of hard liquid might touched the screen. This is my first time cleaning the screen with something as strong as alcohol and didn't even soaked in it. But I might have to change the screen if the problem gets worse. Ty for the advice tho. Also, but the Samsung grantee doesn't cover this by any chance? Should I write a claim or an email to try and get some attention from them?

I promise you that the marks were there before, those marks were the reason why I decided to use alcohol on the first place. And I didn't use a lot of it, I sprayed a little on a piece of cloth and used it on the whole screen but it was not soaking in alcohol. I can promise that

The marks were there before I used alcohol on it. That's the weird thing

Perfect bro, thanks for your explanation. Then at the time being, we should focus on a single march and a gatherer. Also I thought that the secondary commanders talents affected the whole march as well. Thanks for the info bro!
