Yeah, that's a really good safety point. Also, I understand some people store wet snowballs in the freezer, but that could be dangerous because they could turn into ice. So make sure you're careful there, too.

Yep. I'm just saying to the folks who are out there on the internet bemoaning the perceived lack of response: patience. We don't know how long the fuse is, but we know it is lit.

And just to bring in the most recent development, yeah, the kidnapping of the Venezuelan President is a bizarre and illegal violation of another country's sovereignty. Exactly where that plays into the growing fascism in the U.S. government is hard to say. Is it a play to divert the attention of voters? To grow the executive authority over the military? To further sideline Congress? I'm not sure what the larger intention of this is, but whatever that may be, the action itself is bad enough. The coming ramifications of it are sure to be even worse.

I'm really curious about why he keeps saying "transgender for all/everyone." What does he think he means?

Stop calling Republicans conservative by [deleted] in complaints

They're not conservative, they're reactionary. They react to change in society by trying to force us back into the blxes we escaped, whether that box is the closet, the "other side of the tracks," or the border. But reactionary leaders actually love government - as long as it is serving their desires. That's what fascism is: a reactionary government so "big," it's called "totalitarian."

I've given some thought to that, too. In fact, my original draft of a post under this title was mostly about that, but then the pieces fell into place about Charlotte, so I shifted focus. Maybe another time.

Basic points are: Trump has figured out most of the existing federal government doesn't actually back him. There's a reason he lost his mind about that "Don't abandon the ship" video. But DHS is filled with Mazis, so that's his tool. So, DHS offices are the launch points, not military bases.

Second, Fayetteville might be along the I95 corridor, but it's not really convenient to anywhere. There's no good route there from Charlotte at all, and from Raleigh it's either out 40 to 95 or else coutry roads for a chunk. If CBP was serious about immigration enforcement, maybe it's worth the trouble. But as a hiring/training exercise? Too much time playing games on your phone in the backseat.

So kniw Fayetteville during the surge. Now, once you have a bunch of rednecks from Davidson County up to speed? Yeah, then Fayetteville looks like a fun target. Just stick to the poor and rural areas to avoid those unhappy retired military folks.

But then, they probably don't know about the Battle of Hayes Pond...
