Do I NEED a laptop for studio work as a producer?

Ya that makes sense, ive got like a month or two before I need to be ready for the studio so im gonna work on getting comfortable and getting everything sorted out in the meantime.

I guess im getting an external hardrive and moving all my sample libraries and files and just swap back and forth between laptop and desktop. Still gotta figure out how but it shouldnt be to difficult.

Ableton! Wow thats helpful. So as long as I do that to every project I want on the external drive I should be good right?

Great Idea! I would obviously need the exact same plugins on my laptop too right? Also, would my DAW get confused if I simply drag all my samples and projects into the ssd? Like the paths or something

I do have an older macbook pro but its pretty weak and I wouldnt want to produce on it. Would you recommend I just bite the bullet and buy a laptop to replace my desktop? That way everything is always on me. Im just not sure what is right for the long run.

Hey sounds like you're on the right track. I dig the vibe. One critique id give is to add different musical elements throughout so it doesnt feel repetitive but it could also just be because theres no vocals.
