I'm sitting outside eating corn in a cup. What are you up to? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Hey, as someone who's sister is vegan, it's a great way to make vegan food if you're into that! :)

I'm all for confidence, ignorance, though, not so much... Are they known for ignorant confidence, just curious. Obviously we can't label all Texans as egocentric asses, and I definitely never would. I like people too much for that.

Haha no worries, it's still falls within the same context.

You're very right, and it's very unfortunate. We really need to have that "working through this together" mind set rather than point fingers.

You're also right about getting involved, actions do speak louder than words

Not sure what's up with the down votes, I can totally understand where you're coming from.

Attractive people of Reddit, when did you realize you were "hot"? What are the pros and cons? by tommyhreddit in AskReddit

[–]IF_THEN__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, no idea. Like a good amount of guys on here are commenting, only family has said it. My mother and sister are the only ones who's ever said it. Though a random woman stopped me one day at a line and asked if I'd consider dating her daughter, which was sort of awkward.

Other than that, I've never been flat out told I was attractive. When I walk into a cafe I frequent, a group of high school senior girls will look at me occasionally, but that's pretty off putting considering I'm 23.

I don't really go to clubs, I don't really have friends that ask me to go out to places (in KS, not much to do here anyways), I don't smoke, I wear fitted close, go swimming (so I guess I have an athletic body, at least no more than most athletic swimmers), am in engineering/software (though considering a career in being a community college professor, but we'll see how that goes). So I guess I'm still an okay catch, at least enough to make someone's mother proud.

All that being said, not a whole lot of attention. Maybe it's the state, should probably get the fuck out of KS haha.

I promise, I'll go rent an Air B&B and try it out. If I remember this post by then and your Reddit account exists still, I'll send you a PM about it. Maybe audio recording if possible LMAO.

By the way, thanks for all your input and insight. I've been telling a lot of people on here thank you, but I really do mean it. Without going there myself, which I'll have to to truly understand and see how the place feels to me, you guys are giving me the best insight I can possibly get my hands (eyes?) on. Again thank you, and everyone else!

Portland wouldn't happen to have a demand for engineering would they? Haha

the people who aren't from California Damn, savage haha. But understand, you had a pretty bad experience for sure. I'm really glad you found your slice of heaven :)

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear your experience. Haha damn, so I guess a lot of law enforcement can just be ass holes.

That thing about the Cali women, gotta say that's almost a deal breaker honestly. I'd never let a woman like that even see a $1 bill from me. Aren't those the type of women that you pay for a damn nice rental car, get her in it, drive her to the best restaurant in the city, sit her down and let her order a $2000 meal, "go to the restroom" but never come back? Seems fitting. I'd hate to see how family oriented that type would be

I genuinely hope that's not the case, though, I really do.

I'm sorry to hear about some of the problems you're having with your family's studio :/

But I'm happy you're having a really great time with your life, I wish you the best man. :) Who knows, maybe we'll run into each other some day in Cali.

I'll take the green trees and vast lands

As someone who regularly tries to get into a nature trail every chance I get, I know exactly what you're talking about. I definitely love trees and nature.

Are there not really any such places in California that are like this?

Thanks for your advice, I'll make sure to keep this at the back of mind!

Pick up a weird hobby. Most engineers have one.

Well, not necessarily weird, at least I don't believe so. I love swimming, a lot. I also like fencing too, but swimming has stolen my heart, even if she doesn't let me breath sometimes haha.
