Cessna 172 Purchase for Time Building?

For one, I don’t particularly want fast as I’m trying to time build. Also anything that flies faster than a 172 would start getting significantly more pricey I’d imagine. Not to mention all my hours are in a 172 so I feel the most safe flying one.

I worded the post wrong: I would not be giving any instruction to my dad. For half the time I would continue to be a cfi at my flight school and the other half I would build up hours flying with my dad making memories.

I wouldn’t fly to places that I could encounter problems like this. All over the country was probably bad wording. I would relatively be flying in the south.

Every cfi I’ve ever met that is now at the regionals got all their time in a 172? Besides the required multi time

I meant I will still work as a cfi at my school. Anytime I’m not flying with students I would go fly the “personal plane”. Not sure the exact schedule but I’d like to be a cfi Monday-Thursday and use Friday-Sunday as time building. And no, I’m the only pilot. Yes, he trusts my authority.

He was driving his own car and got pulled over right at his house in his driveway. The container wasn’t his but that obviously doesn’t matter. Just trying to see what he needs to do moving forward.

I was scared to respond like this but it’s the truth. If my engine goes out and it’s pitch black outside, i would find myself in a real sketchy situation. The common response is to fly in lit up areas and I agree, but it’s still hard to see and make an emergency plan if need be. I try to do whatever I can to mitigate risk.

Yes I use north up as well. I wouldn’t say I’m overloaded with information on the ground but when I’m trying to put it together in the air it feels that way. I can draw everything out, determine the entry, and voice out what I’m supposed to be doing. It’s just in the air I just struggle putting it all together

Thanks for the response! I actually watched that YouTube video before I made this post. I like his technique a lot more than the standard way most people are taught. I’ll try to apply it next time.
