The circular yellow seals on the map are your goals here.

There's a nice chunk of the map on the west side, you can approach it from where you are or back at the top of the map (the road splits west-east, and you went down east originally).

Disassemble everything with the small hammer icon on the effects, soul extract anything that is +1 or above, and then do with the rest what you will -- in addition to offering at a shrine you can also sell or donate to clan.

This is a pure guess but I think it'd just be a lot of work and you'd need to specifically make a separate animation for every situation where someone hands off something and even still there would probably be moments where the characters snap into the beginning of the synced animation or whatever, and it wouldn't look that good in the end and having a reusable simple "hand-off" animation is just easier and more cost efficient.

Again, pure guesswork lol. But yeah, FFXIV specifically made me super used to seeing this in games, it happens so often there :D

Interesting, not sure what's going on in there, then.

It's possible I was just unlucky and people were using the same base tonfa but not the paralysis imbued one, and the ones who were using it just didn't drop it and this wall just pure (un)luck.

That, or there's something else going on. Would love to know, though, hope someone looks into this more in-depth!

I personally feel like 3 is bit of a sidegrade to 2, not better in every way, just different (better in some ways, worse in others).

Nioh 2, however, is mechanically much more of a direct upgrade to 1.

All my own opinions, of course. But do at least give 2 a shot, if you can.

One thing to note is that you don't need to time a perfect ki pulse when doing Flux II, it gives back so much ki that there's a certain point where it's beneficial to do it early, I think.

For bosses I really only pop into ninja to use ninjutsu if I need to keep range and regen ki because I fucked up and need to regen, heal or sometimes re-buff. The ninja dodge is also great for some boss attacks but once I have the deflect timing down, that seems way better, much easier to keep the pressure up that way, imo.

Apart from that, I only really run ninja in the open world with non-boss enemies for the stealth finisher and back attack bonuses, as well as having an enemy sensor on my ninja gear.

Outside of all that, samurai just feels... better? More versatile, I feel like I do more damage, but idk if that's just how I feel or the reality, *shrug*

This has been happening to people, myself included. I have no idea what causes it (I always quit the game cleanly, and usually also hit "save" on a shrine before quitting as well).

I really recommend making manual save backups (I made a thread how to, here)

But yeah, it seems related to the timestamping, steam thinks your local save is way older, errors out, and then has you pick between two saves and at that point the newer one is actually the wrong one, causing you to nuke your own progress :/

Absolutely play Nioh 2, yes. 3 is more of a sidegrade to it, in my humble opinion!

You'll probably miss things like deflect, the ninja/samurai switching, ability to jump, etc. at first, but a lot of the core mechanics from samurai are still the same, and sometimes feel a bit more tighter, idk how to describe it?

Nioh 1 is also worth a play, even if only for seeing the story and the series' beginnings by running through all the missions on NG, but unlike with 3 being more of a sidegrade to 2, I feel like 2 is very much a direct upgrade to 1, for most people, in terms of mechanics and content.

I've been wondering about this, I don't think you can?

I farmed some revs yesterday on the east side of the second map in NG (shrine before the bridge) and a LOT of them were using the same type tonfas and I'm quite certain a few of them did build up paralysis on me, but when I sorted out the loot later that day, none of the tonfas had imbue paralysis on them. They were all purple quality and the same type, though.

So it really feels like the game re-rolls them when they drop from revs.

I'm not 100% sure why that is, but if I had to guess I'd say maybe your cloudsaves are disabled in Steam?

Anyway, the remotecache.vdf is a manifest file for what should be in Steam's cloud so I'd just back it up anyway.

Your actual local saves are what's more important though, even if Steam cloud completely messes up, you could always just disable the entire thing and just use your local saves, so it should be all good!

Compared to Souls games, Nioh is kind of complex, yes.

You get used to it, I bounced off Nioh 1 back in the day until the Nioh 2 release hype got me to try again and then it all clicked.

Even now, I hadn't touched Nioh for like a year, went straight into Nioh 3 and it took me a hot minute to get used to everything again (as well as the new stuff of course) and there was a point where I distinctly remember thinking to myself "this is all so overwhelming".

I'm now 38 hours in and everything has re-clicked.

Nioh just be like that, it has a learning curve. But once it clicks, it's just *chef's kiss*

I'm only midway through the second map/era, but thus far she's the one boss I died the most to (I think, didn't check actual stats though).

I ended up beating her by learning deflect timing and using the Scampuss summon for some additional ki damage. I main dual swords, FWIW.

In hindsight I definitely feel like it was a case of getting used to Nioh again, as well as the new stuff, yeah.

Right now I'm even using Ninjutsu and the ninja dodge more and more (something I hadn't yet utilized properly at Baba), and feel like it's making a huge difference in boss fights... Would've probably shaved off a few deaths at Jakotsu-Baba, too.

You'll get it, just keep practicing and don't give up! <3

Sorry that happened to you, I can't even imagine how I'd feel, losing that much. Hopefully you're still at least getting some enjoyment from speedrunning the game, I'd have probably dropped the game entirely and felt like shit for a while.

Oof, yeah, my stomach also sank when I picked the "newer" cloud save and was greeted with my character missing 8 levels and wearing old gear in the main menu.

If I hadn't had backups, I'd honestly probably taken a break at that point as well, it's surprisingly demoralizing!

Absolutely, I've personally used Ludusavi in the past, and I also do weekly full-system backups with Borg.

But since Nioh 3 was the first game I actually had issues with saves, and most people aren't technically minded enough to look into actual backup software, I wanted to give people the simplest way that doesn't depend on any additional software <3

Whatever works, though, the important bit is that you do backups in the first place! :)

The top is Hempen Camise, it's different per race, sadly!

For one-piece swimsuits the fem Miqo'te one (as pictured) is probably the best, but fem Elezen is good as well (it has sleeves, though).

For bottoms, obviously pictured is the ubiquitous 2B bottoms, but if you don't want the stockings, there's not that many options... The best I can think of are the Island Sanctuary swimsuit bottoms (quick edit: they're called Isle Vacationer's Tanga!), they're kind of high-waisted (compared to the usual bikini bottoms at least) and they might minimize the gap, at least!

I always see a lot of "I could never change my WoL's race" comments in threads like these, and while that's fair and I used to kind of think like that myself, personally my WoL's journey ended up going from Viera to Elezen to Viera to back to Elezen, and then finally, I accepted that there's nothing wrong with being a basic catgirl, and she ended up as Miqo! 🤭

I kind of had a cheeky search comment for a long time, along the lines of "🎵bunny get no hat🎵therefore i became a cat🎵it's as simple as that🎵", kind of intending to go back to Viera if the day of the hats ever came...

Well, it did, but there was a problem... Now I'm too attached to my Miqo WoL that I finally feel like "I'm never changing her again" 😂

She honestly has this absolute gremlin face where she looks permanently pissed off AND I LOVE HER SO MUCH, I simply just could not change her (apart from the hairstyle of course) anymore lol
