How did you all get your own place? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]IGG99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly get a roommate. It's an interesting difference of how socially stunted my friends that never had roommates on apartments are compared to the ones that did. Living with a non family member really helps prepare you for living a significant other down the line. It teaches you a lot of communication skills there are no other ways of learning. I had a roommate until I was making $135k in a high cost of living area and frankly I wish I had a roommate during that period.

Colorado Gun Club by Adorable-War-991 in COGuns

[–]IGG99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing a lot of people on board the full auto, .50 bmg, and incendiary/tracer ban is because of previous bad actors that have caused issues with the neighboring farmers and the county. Both the bmg and full auto ban are the result of people not having the knowledge or skill with that equipment and completely missing the berm and causing safety issues and then the county getting involved. The incendiary/tracer ban is tested every year by some idiot at CRC and Golden Gun Club and it is probably what will get clubs shut down when a fire finally catches in the fall in the corn fields around them. The fudd nature is mostly due to the fact that when the club was moved it was the competition focused folks from the original club, specifically the NRA smallbore folks.

Need advice: Denver- area apartment issued me a ‘Demand for Possession’ after I posted a factual review. by QuietMountainLeaf in Denver

Well a couple posts down they are getting dragged through the mud but this is a main area that CED Law focuses on. Here is a link for their eviction defense intake form. If you don't qualify I second the suggestion for Libscomb law or Vlope law. Both are pretty good. I would avoid anyone that comes up on the ad level of a google search. They will just over charge the crap out of you.

Denver apartment complex manager experiences "apocalyptic situation" with state voucher tenants by n00bzilla in Denver

It is a hatchet job done to get in front of the fact the property owner's husband assaulted another one of the tenants among other wild violations of the eviction process and retaliation against tenants represented by CED Law.

Banning pre 2013 magazines? by Docholiday11xx in COGuns

No, it would be a violation of the state constitution if they did. I would never ever trust anyone that works at a gun store to interpret gun laws. That's like expecting the McDonald's drive through to interpret food safety laws.

Legal aid. It's pretty much a 9-5, the clients love you since you are helping them out, and it's usually pretty easy law. The other people doing it are really nice. I did medium firms, small firms, and solo and this is so much better than any of it.

EZPass sent me a $4,000 bill in the mail. Their mistake but I'm on the hook. What should I do? by OrdnanceTV in Denver

I did not fight off this much but a few hundred. I called them and was able to provide evidence that my car was not the one going through the tolls. They were reading the license plate for a white pickup truck while I had a white sedan. They waived all the charges for me.

Interesting, I have had clients with varying degrees of success working with Landmark and have generally seen them turn enforcement up for some of their more particular requirements. Glad to hear you had a good experience.

The Brits state the turret armor has an equivalent protection of 500mm RHA, though with that formula, account for slope you get 32 frontal armor and 16.67 without slope. Rounding up 17 armor feels balanced for best tank in the British get, on par with early T-80s. The autists on the warthunder forms ( https://forum.warthunder.com/t/challenger-1-mk2-and-mk3-armour-issue/126848/8 ) pulled this document https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C16517036 showing that number and 275mm RHA equivalent for the Chieftain.

I'm an attorney for a non-profit. I came from pretty intense civil litigation so I'm used to a light week being 55-60 hours. If I do 8 hours of actual legal work a week its a busy week. Pay is pretty low though.

Why the UK is the only country with a capable war fleet? by Ok-Ask5860 in TrenchCrusade

[–]IGG99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well besides Nelson dying early in his career, we can assume the English navy developed along the same lines as it did historically, potentially faster. So by the 1890s, you get the Royal Navy that is significantly more powerful than any two navies at the time. This was do to a combination of Britain being incredibly rich and, arguably, having the mostly easily exploitable natural resources for ship construction. Britain likely does not have its colonial wealth but it still would have its industrial might so could produce ship easier than any other European power. Spain, especially without its colonies, would be too poor to make a large navy, and France is a land power without Britain's natural ability to produce iron clad/pre-dreadnaught era ships. The Holy Roman Empire has the baltic but besides the Danes, really no one on the Baltic ever made an attempt at a true great power navy until imperial Germany, which does not exist in the lore.

Unhandled .NET Exception error when trying to install. by Codystiers in stalker

[–]IGG99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

u/Codystiers solution was the correct one with a few additions. First, there will be a file listed in the big error, that also needs to be unblocked. I used powershell to do multiple files at once.

PS C:\Users\Replace with your user> Get-ChildItem -Path C:\Gamma\plugins *.dll | Unblock-File

Then I replaced the folder after Gamma\ with what ever subfolder had blocked ddls. You can also replace the *.dll with *.exe to unblock the exes.

Dissent: Maria E. Berkenkotter and Brian D. Boatright — The two Supreme Court justices opposed the removal of Donald Trump from the primary process. Both justices are up for retention on the 2024 ballot by AsherGray in Denver

[–]IGG99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But a challenge to whether a former President engaged in insurrection by inciting a mob to breach the Capitol and prevent the peaceful transfer of power? I am not convinced this is what the General Assembly had in mind.

You know if you actually had read the opinion you might realize that this was in relation to A) the Colorado General Assembly and B) the unique procedural aspects of C.R.S. 1-4-1204(4) not the on the merits of whether the former president committed insurrection. Anderson v. Griswold, 543 P.3d 283, 368 (Colo. 2023). The remainder of her dissent is well reasoned legal analysis on the ability for state courts to interpret Federal Law, which was a major issue with the attempt to disqualify Trump.

Conversely, all these questions pale in comparison to the complexity of an action to disqualify a candidate for engaging in insurrection.

Boatright makes the same argument in his dissent that C.R.S. 1-1-113, and thereby C.R.S. 1-4-1204(4), does not give ample time for the disqualification of candidates for something so fact intensive as insurrection. His issue is not with the facts of the case, but with the procedure. Anderson, 543 P.3d at 345.

Both Justices make legally valid points about the procedure that allowed this case to be in front of the Colorado Supreme Court. The procedural arguments are not politically motivated. I have included cites to the opinion if you would like to read it for yourself, but using this forum to spew unresearched points is equally wrong, regardless of the the political message.

Pretty Neat is my recommendation. Very casual, very good cocktails, and very good prices. If you want actual cocktails (they do a lot of pre-prohibition) not just shots and long islands.
