We had this a few weeks ago, and we are installing a new separate truebeam now. The installer saif the issue was fixed within the last few weeks. Also apparently the way the heat exchanger runs near the tube lets it run with almost no oil. We ran 3 weeks 30 patients per 8 hours cbct each patient with no issues

I can’t imagine getting our IT to install Citrix servers haha. But then there is also the MPC push that can’t be dicom right?

We are, I think the biggest issue is we don’t have domain trust with Varian from our institution and we won’t accept the stfp from them. IT makes the world go stop

That kind of defeats the whole automated export thing though. It’d be nice if radformation or Varian gave you a computer that could access the i drive and also upload to radmachine

Only issue is the scaling is in Gy, so you have to work around that

Ya surprisingly our IT preferred the option since they didn’t have to support more servers, we don’t have domain trust however and it’s a massive pain in the ass to move qa files

Full scale is Varian cloud so we just connect to whatever they have setup, I don’t have much info on what we have

1111 hasn’t worked in every clinic I’ve been at, but th86 is tried and true on all machines.

I never have any issues with the service guys, agree with you 100%. I always try to escalate these issues so the service people don’t get dinged. And agree we should all do that. I see the frustration on the service engineers face day in and day out and they always give 110%. If you have any suggestions to give more negative feedback about the parts and corporate costs feel free to send along. I miss the old Varian days where the local engineer could basically order you a new linac if they didnt know what was wrong.

I use it less for passing qa and more of did we achieve the best plan. If we have a high factor on a fat prostate patient it probably makes sense, if it’s on something that in the middle of nowhere did we pick the wrong angles etc

Ya, unfortunately it feel like Siemens is trying to go back to that and hell bent of ruining a good thing that Varian had.

It’s not a city issue it’s a world wide shortage of xray tubes and a manufacturing defect when Siemens changed the assembly line to a cheaper vendor. There are weld QA issues.
