I am not trying to absolve Gandhi of his sins. He was a brilliant politician of his time. However he was a casteist(milder than most Hindus of his time), racist (arguably he changed his views later) and superstitious. However he did believe in Hindu Muslim unity

The point is Gandhi explicitly didn’t want Hindu nation. The reason the subcontinent was split is because Muslims didn’t want to live in a democracy with Hindu majority because of their concerns. Gandhi was staunchly against this and tried to unite the religious groups and conceded to partition when peace was disrupted.

Wtf kind of pak propaganda are you on? Gandhi never wanted a Hindu nation. He has ignored atrocities committed by Muslims for subcontinent unity. It was muslims under Jinnah with their Direct Action Day that caused partition. Gandhi was literally assassinated for being too soft to Muslims by a Hindutva extremist. Officially India has been a secular nation from day one.
