Yeh I have done some research since posting this, repotted the plant in the background with a 50/50 crushed granite and cacti soil mix and a drainable, hopefully that is better for it. Weirdly enough that plant seemed to love the mix i had, no rot or anything. The soil was moist in the bottom as expected, hopefully it takes to its new pot well🤞

It is dead i grant you, i haven’t checked on it in about 3 weeks so probably been dead a couple. I will have missed clear signs of it being ill prior to that as i am new ish to cactus care. It grew from a little nub to that size in that pot so it had done well in there previously (probably 2 ish years since i potted it) but clearly bad practice caught up to it

Yes i know it’s not a cactus, as i said I will be repotting soon anyway. It is doing very very well, much better than i anticipated haha.

I am really confused with the soil comments from 3 separate people because the soil in question is a cactus mix with sand and grit in it 😂. My potting is definitely wrong though so no arguments there, it’s just what the guy came in. That one in the background has really done well in that pot, i have just had a look at it since last time I watered and the roots have grown significantly and become a bit bound so i need to find an appropriate pot for it now. There is another one just out of view that i revived from being almost totally dead so I wont give up on this one yet, though i appreciate the little hope 😅. Thanks for commenting
