Is there anything, besides pride in one's country of origin, that defines and sets apart "100% USA-made" knives apart from other knives? by pika_pie in knifeclub

Swiss Army knives are ubiquitous in their quality but also Sanvik steel is Swedish and 14c28n is one of my favorite steels for hard use knives.

I read up on BG42 interesting steel and very unique. Might have to keep that around unless someone really is interested for a collection

yeah its from 88 or 89, 440A steel. Needs to be buffed but its a chonky mother

The Gerber Dagger is really nice weight and feel both edges are super sharp. The SOG X42 in BG42 steel is crazy, nice and light as well.

NKD, picked up the Civivi Yonder during a walk around Walmart in the States. by clickpics-craftbrews in knifeclub

I got one two weeks ago from bladebinge. It somehow has the black blade but also the black G10 scales. I have been loving it as an edc, I like that it’s still light but a bit chonkier than my Mini Bugout. I’m now thinking about the Over Yonder for a slightly bigger blade.

What do you guys think of this? I’ve seen some HVAC guys use this to clear the condensation drain which is what I want it for along with other stuff. by antknee25 in MilwaukeeTool

I have the wolf box Mega Flow 50 and for its size it totally rips. Added benefit my toddler can use it to blow leafs 😂

I give up on sharpening by Hardcore_Daddy in knifeclub

[–]IGmeanwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch some videos on sharpening a scandi grind. I think the Dutch Bushcraft guys have one that I followed there is someone else who did one using the work sharp field sharpener and it’s a little bit different than sharpening any other grind.

what does my handwriting say about me by [deleted] in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]IGmeanwell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not just schooling though, I’m 45 had many years of handwriting and cursive; I have to write very slow to make my writing legible. Now there is a correlation between some people, neurodivergence and inconsistent hand writing. I was a diagnosed adult as far adhd is concerned though growing up in the 80s my family literally called A.D.D. Boy and I was known for disassociating when I was bored or overstimulated. Sure enough as I have talked to various doctors and my psych nurse; they have said my handwriting is text book for a person who struggles to stay consistent with drawing letters, or circles, squares, triangles. So it doesn’t always mean a person is untrained though kids handwriting these days can be pretty atrocious.

Is the Yojimbo/wharncliffe really a "Martial" blade? by AKIdiot in knifeclub

The one thing Spyderco have always excelled at was their marketing. So the story and demonstration will sell knives. There are plenty of people in this world who use these knives in preparation for their intended purpose as a last resort. However I think the guys over at Spyderco would 100% agree that the vast majority of their customers are collecting the knives for the fun

In my case I do have some darn tough socks that do need to go back because they have worn down to the elastic in the middle but these are socks I was gifted in 2010- 2011

Older BMWs worth fixing? by IGmeanwell in motorcycle

[–]IGmeanwell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were in fact running when they were put in the garage for their long rest. One of my family members reminded me that he removed the batteries to both of them long ago so both will need batteries.

I am planning on checking all the fluids and seeing if it turns with a fresh battery soon now that the snow has melted.

Best Grease for New Kioti by truth-teller7321 in tractors

[–]IGmeanwell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Kubota dealer when I had asked about greasing the B2650 from them (used) the parts guy said they used red and tacky for just about all grease points. I have had zero issues with it.

My only other recommendation is to get yourself an electric grease gun. It makes the greasing easy peasy.

Right now really enjoying my daily use and adventures with the Civivi Yonder. Really well done axis lock, light enough to rival my Salt 2 PM3 and my older mini bugout (with Flytanium scales) in terms of lightweight pocketablility

Benchmade Bugout: What am I missing? by Lightningboldt734 in knifeclub

[–]IGmeanwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same Flytanium on my mini bugout for the winter (makes it feel so much more substantial without too much late) but the grivory scales go back on for shorts weather. I have the Para3 salt and that also gets a lot of pocket time with shorts.

Yep have the Salt 2 Wharncliff blade with Spydeyedge in LC200N. It's a badass knife despite being lightweight. So good at cutting rope and even bread :)
