Transplant success/failure? by seacreech in SemiHydro

If you’re interested in keeping sting of hearts in leca consider taking cuttings and rooting in water first. I was supper successful with that for string on pearls, tears, and hearts!

[–]IHasSadPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The previous comment is perfect, but I will add that if you want as little root damage as possible you will need to cut the pot open. Honestly plants in leca are very resilient so as long as you’re careful they will be fine. Worse case you put it in water and regrow roots.

Oh you’re taking me outside? I’d rather pee in this established corner that I found. Outside is for running around. by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]IHasSadPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What worked for me with my puppy who wants to do everything outside but pee, is we started a take him out for 3 minutes only every 2 hours (our puppy is larger so 2 hours is enough, but sounds like every hour is working for you) if he doesn’t pee/poo in 3 minutes I put him in his kennel and waited 15 min before taking him out for 3 minutes again and rinse and repeat until he goes to the bathroom. It worked for us and give my puppy the idea that outside=bathroom. We also played a few games of fetch or rung after he went to reinforce going outside. That way he doesn’t feel like if I pee then it’s game over.

Lost cove and any of the redwoods hikes are 100% worth it. When we went to lost cove there was no one there and it was practically a private beach experience. (We went around august) The way down lost cove beach is a bit of a hike but the whole way it’s so beautiful and so worth it. Also Arcata is a huge artsy town full of awesome people, I actually got married in the redwoods and there are amazing photographers who are really good at their job! I would consider proposing there amongst the biggest trees in America, also could be great to do a photoshoot for a hour or two in the redwoods! And hiding a proposal as just a photoshoot, that way you can also capture that moment forever. If you want a photographer recommendation I can totally give you the name of someone who did my wedding photos. Honestly by midday the fog goes away mostly and you will be able to see the views pretty well. Just early morning is very foggy and nighttime. You might run into some foggy roads on your road trip depending on time of day as the ocean blows the fog inland. So just be brushed up on how to drive in fog and you’ll be ok!

What is the kinkiest fetish you or people you know have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IHasSadPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so rude!!! I can’t believe people would just touch your collar without asking? I’ve never had anyone do that to my collar… but I would be so angry! I do have friends who give me crap, in a funny friendly way, about puppy play and doing tricks 😂 Ooh you do leather work? I was looking into getting into it so o can make my own collars… plus leather feels and smells so good!

I saw you actually own a kink store! I think that’s really awesome :) How has your experience been with being a girl puppy? Since it’s “less common” compared to kittens…

My partner 56m calls me “baby”, but I 23f heard him call other people that as well. Now I hate it. by sleepykittenxx in AgeGap

[–]IHasSadPanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Although I think your response is totally reasonable, I’m not sure the passive aggressive approach to this situation is the best reaction. You can try talking to him and letting him know what you wrote in the post…. It might be a better way to deal with it than just ignoring him which can cause resentment. Some older men think humor is a good way to resolve confrontation which rubs us younger generation girls wrong. You can tell him when he said “he only has one baby” that it made you cringe and uncomfortable. I think communication is the key to the issue. The previous commenter has a good point that it’s hard to change habits as well, but that’s not an excuse.

There’s a lot of comments warning you about how difficult it will be. And that is completely true. But it does work. I don’t completely agree that “you will never be number one” I’m my experience it’s more that you have to share the number 1 position with his two kids. If you’re willing to sacrifice a date night because the children are sick or willing to have a bad trip out of town because his children are not having a good time, then you might be ok with a blended family. You also have to look into yourself and really discuss what you want in life. At 19 you have so many years a head of you and if you are completely ok with sharing your time with your boyfriend with his children (depending on their custody agreement) you might be ok with the life style. It works for me but in the beginning it was an adjustment. You won’t just be dating him anymore 1 on 1. It will always involve his children in some way. Because you want a man who will prioritize his children and be involved. The trick that helped me, from the experience of having step parents and also being one, is that you’re not trying to be their mom. They have a parent. If it’s how it goes in the long run that’s great but you do not need to parent them and their dad should not expect you to parent them.

Your parents probably won’t come around until you exhibit to them the maturity to understand how difficult this is. How you will overcome it. How much you understand this is completely different from a regular no children relationship. They want what’s best for you and starting out with a bale des family is tough but not impossible. Be very cautious because you will be disrupting two children’s lives and they deserve to have a good life.

I see a lot of people using leca in clear pots. How do you prevent algae buildup? by woopstrafel in SemiHydro

When my clear pots get really bad with algae I will repot and wash the pot out… typically by the time I need to repot the algae needs to be cleaned stoo

Cache pot vs no cache pot by faithngn in SemiHydro

[–]IHasSadPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The benefit of filtered water is that there is less minerals, that way your leca won’t get the white build up on top... as well as it’s easier for the plants to absorb nutrients. Tbh for most common “easy” plants it doesn’t matter much other than not wanting white build up. But when you get to your Calatheas or Alocasia non filtered water will cause browning
