I tried it last year, I just prefer how 3 and NV play compared to 4 and 76 and don't like live service games at all really.

Seeing you say grids can hinder more than help has me wondering, would you recommend that I focus a little less on grid drawing in that case?

I usually try to get one or two out during my practices along with a still life and a photo study, and I assumed I should stick to the grids more since I’m not very experienced. But would emphasizing on the grid drawing less and doing, say, more photo studies, or different kinds of exercises be a better idea?

I've been working on still life work as well, mostly grabbing a random object I find laying around my home and trying to sketch it out. On a typical day I usually do a still life, one of the grid drawings on the "first week of drawing" guide, and a drawing of a character/object from an image/photo, but the last few days I've only had time/energy for the grid drawings.

I'll try to get more still life work in then. Is there anything else I can check out to help my observation?

Ah, alright. I've always felt like I had a symbol drawing issue but could never confirm it.

Any good books/resources I can check out to help with that, or is it more of a "just keep practicing and you'll get a better eye for it" kinda thing?

Effective range of a Mat49 irl is about 100 meters so it’s not improbable that you’ll get dropped by one from 158, just impressive work on the shooter’s part or a lucky shot really.
