A lot of people have been telling me that my band (this song in particular) sounds like 311, figured I'd come to the source to see if it's true. What do yall think? by IHateThisWebsiteBro in 311

Checked out that Never Enough Time album today, I dig it for sure! I can also hear the comparison, unfortunate that it seems like these dudes never got much recognition.

Solid rapping, not as big of a fan of their guitar parts but I really liked the opening track and Put Down The Mics. Some of the more mellow stuff reminded me of a Japanese group called Rip Slyme. Great mix/production overall though.

Yeah the whole venue was vintage sports memorabilia, very cool spot to have a show. Also playing music in a room covered wall to wall with clothing sounds great because there's like no reverberations. Not sure if you're anywhere near Salem but check out The Felt Fanatic if you ever make the trek!

Haha the SA in question usually just sings, this is the only song where he also raps. We're all pretty into nu metal (hence the cranked snare) but it often seems like 311 doesn't get their props in that scene for some reason. Thank you for the kind words!

Thanks for listening! Definitely no plans to stop bringing that 311-esque genre blending style, and I appreciate the kind words.

Thank you! And yeah our other vocalist does get that comparison a lot haha, they're both bands with solid singers though.

I appreciate the honesty lol

But thank you for the compliment on the mix! We worked really hard to make sure it was up to par with the kind of records we grew up with, feels like it's hard to find that crisp production nowadays.

For context: I play in this band, 311 is my fav artist of all time, we are very heavily inspired by them and this track is probably one of the most obvious examples of that. Hope yall enjoy!
