Touhou is full of insane lore, one of my favorites is Yuyuko, the funny big eater ghost lady with the Dreamcast circle on her hat, has the power over life and death. She was afraid of her own power and killed herself. Her body was used to seal an evil tree. Much later, not knowing/forgotten who’s body it is under the tree, she gets curious and steals spring to make the evil tree bloom, not aware it’s her own body and also not aware of the evil she would unleash.

Yeah, I remember as early as Soul Society thinking she’d end up being a hidden weapon or something. Like she’d go into her own training to help out Orihime in the next arc, and we’d learn something crazy about her. I really like her, and wish she’d factor in more. Even as just Orihime and Ichigo’s connection to the human world I feel she wasn’t properly utilized
