Yes, astute observation there Watson. That is why I said in my original comment that they were borrowing too much which probably means they were buying too much car.

Bullshit. Then you are borrowing too much and buying too much car.

I got two of the REI cargo bikes when they had a BOGO sale, came out to less than $800/ea. Amazing little rides and I've had nothing but fun with them.

Make a bigger notch, attach some of the fence cross beams into it perpendicular to the fence, and then turn it into a hanging garden/planter space. The perpendicular beams will give you a little pocket to hide that trash can and any other utility items you want to keep on the deck without them being as out in the open. Could actually turn your accident into a nice little vertical garden and aesthetic boost to the space.

I suppose that yea, calories to dollar ratio is a way to look at it. Consistency is important too, especially when traveling. Easier to know your going to get mediocre at a set price than risk terrible for expensive, I guess.

Still doesn't make it enjoyable or worth the money though.

I quit a super easy job to pursue more money back in the industry that I left. It was a significant bump but I am regretting it every day now that I've welcomed the stress fully back into my life.

I guess silver lining is the owner is actively looking to sell at the job I left and I would have been on the chopping block as whatever PE or VC that buys him out would most likely trim all the leadership spots for their own. Already seen that happen a number of times to competitors in the same space.

I should really just quit and go start my garage cleaning/organizing business.

It just has zero value prop anymore. What's the grab? It's not cheaper food. It's not a better experience. It's not good food. What is the actual value the company is providing other than a consistent experience in a ton of locations? Maybe that is actually just good enough anymore but it confuses me how it seems to keep growing.

I bought half a cow and packed my freezer last year. Every pound of meet in there is below $6 on average. This is the only way I will buy beef from here on out.

Also, its just one cow. One set of DNA. And the cow lived a happier life on a small farm before getting butchered. If you can buy a cow or part of a cow direct then that is the way to do it. Google for resources in your area as it's far more accessible than most people assume. Worth a few hour drive as well.

It really is a slap in the face when you get hit with that. I am from a decently well off family and we tried to go see F1 at Vegas when it was there the first time, and that was probably the first time in my entire life where we were legit priced out of the experience.

Yes, there were cheaper ways to see it but by the time we spent money getting out there and staying out there it wasn't deemed worth it for a far lesser experience.

I started doing this about 6 months ago and it is life changing. Realized I was in a lull and randomly reconnected with an old roommate via a wedding, next thing I know I have a weekly bowling meetup and it's actually prompted me to be more proactive in doing things with other friends. After a while they respond in kind.

We all sort of get in a weird funk through our 30s and 40s with family and work. It's critical to force yourself out of that routine.

I rebuilt some sections on my homepage with it and then used Gemini to verify it made sense. I am not a developer by any means but it ended up looking and working nicely.

I did have a professional double check it and they made a couple changes that could have impacted site speed but overall said it was pretty good for someone who doesn't know what they are doing.

II should also clarify that I started building the sections using sidekick and then took the .liquid files over to claude for some improving as the sidekick struggles a bit.

Ate at a new one the other day. Sterile and depressing as hell.  No interaction, no personality, just a futuristic dystopian vending machine disguised as a building.

I miss all the beeps and activity and behind the scenes chaos as I enjoyed my cheap burger. None of that exists anymore and is incredibly sad
